Just as an update - I posted the letter about a week after I posted on here.
Detailed: name, NI number, tax code, name and address of work place, fact that no laundry facilities or vouchers provided, uniform has logo on it, asked for cheque and tax code to be amended for future. Easy peasy - cheque received for £44.89 (I believe!)0 -

Do you know if the tax office contact your employee or not? I just don't want to go behind their back if they do get contacted!
