Hi, I claimed for this a couple of years back. If you havent changed jobs then will they continue to adjust your tax annually or do you need to reapply each year?0

As we can't see the letters you and HMRC wrote then the only person who can answer your question is you. Either you are on 810 (ie not adjusted) or you are not and it has been adjusted. You should not have to apply each time provided you told them your claim was ongoing and not just for previous years.0 -
does this rebate still apply if you work for a charity as a volunteer?0
-
clue:
tax rebate - implies you have paid tax
tax - means you are paid above the tax threshold to do that job for that activity
so, are you a paid "volunteer" earning enough to have paid tax working at the charity,
note this excludes tax paid working anywhere else?
I think not - have you even tried to read the guide at #1?
Thank you for your rather terse and patronising reply. Yes I had tried to read the guide but found it did not address my query. Just as tax rebates are given for having children and getting married (or used to be), neither of which are requirements of a paid job, I thought the government might be generous enough to give concessions to those of us who give our time volunteering in addition to our full time jobs.0 -
Does this rebate thing apply to those of us that work in nursing homes but wear our own clothes. I keep a seperate set of clothes for work and launder them seperate to prevent cross infection. I tend to buy clothes for work that have pockets in (to keep notes) and that can be washed at a higher temperature.
We use to get a small monthly allowance for this (was about £6 a month) but this was stopped years ago.

Hi all, I have 2 quick questions about this.
1. My girlfriend worked at a vets and had to wear a uniform, but she no longer works there, can she still claim for the time she worked there?
2. I work somewhere where a uniform is not obligatory, however I do have a fleece that I can choose to wear with a company logo on. Can I claim for this?0 -
Thanks for the heads up about claiming the cost of laundry for work clothes. Wrote to the taxman before Christmas and have had my tax code duly adjusted. Sweet0

Hello. My other half is a traffic warden working for the council and has a full on uniform (trousers, shirts, jumpers, body warmer, coat, hat etc) and wondered what rate to claim for as can't see it on the list.0
