its a flat rate allowance per year, not per employer or per part year, 1 day at one employer or 1 whole year but 10 emplyers makles no difference, you'll get the tax back on £60 (or the rate for your industry if you are specifically shiown on the list),

you get nothing more, nothing less

I disagree , check the guidance on the link on applying FREs
    http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/pommanual/PAYE12045.htm

    Multiple claims for FRE

An employee is entitled to receive FRE for each qualifying employment held, where they are required to maintain tools or special clothing, unless the tools and special clothing required can be used for each employment.
As FRE includes amounts in respect of maintaining special clothing, an employee cannot receive FRE and also claim further expenses (EXP) under S336 for cleaning protective clothing or uniforms.

I'm pretty sure if you phone HMR&C they'd say otherwise but that's only because they don't know their own rules.
  • My company provides dry cleaning vouchers for PART of the uniform (the blazer), the trousers and shirts still need to be washed at home.

    Any ideas?

Are the trousers and shirt logo'd or just standard trousers and shirts?

    Could someone help please?

I sent a letter on behalf of my brother inlaw to reclaim his uniform tax rebate, I did this a few days after mine and my partners, his letter was sent literally 3 days ago.

I was shocked to see he had a response today saying to fill out this form and return it to get his rebate, especially before we received anything.

Before he did reply I gave it a quick glance over and it is actually from a company called UTR claiming on his behalf and would take £10 processing fee plus 20% of all commission!!!!

    Anyone else had this?

I think what has happened is someone working within the tax rebate office at HMRC are working with this company to confuse people into filling out these forms and getting money from them!

I think this is disgraceful, I will ring HMRC to complain about this and to of course see if the original letter was processed or not - but is there anything else I would need to do?

    Thanks Leanna :money:

This is the giveaway. I would be shocked if HMR&C replied to a letter within 3 days.

Nope sent it to the address in Martins thread on here, so unless everyone else has sent it to the wrong place too i'm guessing the address was correct lol :D
