Tesco Clubcard Deals-Voucher Value Change

Brilliant! we always used to use clubcard points on deals and now we only get 3x points instead of 4x. To add insult to injury they are now only going to give 1 point per £2 spent on fuel. Probably 80-85% of my clubcard vouchers were earned on fuel, so in effect they'll nearly half my clubcard statement overnight.... Morrisons is looking more and more favourable for fuel now as it requires approx £400 spend in fuel (at todays diesel prices) for a £5.00 voucher as opposed to £1000 spend for a £5 voucher from Tesco's.
Thanks Tesco, it's been nice knowing you but it's time to part.0 -
come on, it was a great system while it lasted and still has a large number of benefits. It only really affects people saving for cruises and holidays.
I still smile when I think I got clubcard points when i used my tesco credit card to pay for a speeding fine.
It doesn't just affect people saving for holidays..I use mine for day trips with my son..
The everyday folk will lose out on points due to the cuts in fuel and when shopping for offers.
I Don't see why people should moan about losing something the benefitted from..Lets face it, the tesco empire is still growing so yet again their profits will increase0 -
It affects long-term savers particularly badly. These are the people who may not have benefitted much from the relatively recent double points scheme, but only got single points for most of their accrued balance.
They may have been saving for a holiday, or something else big, but now get hit by Tesco for having 'saved' their points.
Thanks Tesco - every little hurts.0 -
Have just had a check and we have £120+ saved up, was worth £480 but will shortly be £360 We always take a couple for family days out and then save the rest for a holiday.
We shop somewhere different every week, so no loyalty here, but we do have a credit card with them that we pay off every month and Tesco car insurance too, they soon build up.
Will change a few for days out to use sometime in the spring and then reconcile myself to the fact they're worth less. Never mind, still better than a kick in the teeth.0 -
Takes something to really rattle me before I make a post on forums and this cutback by Tesco does just that.
I just like the way Tesco say that "Double points means we send out more vouchers.......................To help both Tesco and our partners manage this increase"
So to manage the increase in them sending out vouchers they are going to cut down the number of vouchers we can collect thus reducing the num,ber of vouchers they send out.
Surely this does not help "our partners" as they will get fewer bums on their seats or through their doors.
I will do my usual when upset by a company. TALK WITH MY FEET!!
I see a rival to the ryan air hating site doing much better for a whileCocaine is not the solution........unless it is in water0 -
i have £450 worth of vouchers , most of them earnt at before the double points days. Also means the 500 points on the ink cartridges will only be worth £15 , not £20 now. I think its out of bloody order.0

 Thanks for this, saving to go away next year but don't have enough vouchers until the next mailing, I'll have to get my skates on when it arrives!
Cosmos prices are massively over inflated. I looked at this for this year and found that the same holiday at Thomas Cook, worked out the same in cash that i would have had to pay Cosmos AND use cc vouchers to the value of £400 per person.
I urge you to check elsewhere first, you could get your holiday for the same price and STILL have cc points to use.0 -
I'm definately thinking seriously about the reselling goldsmiths on ebay option.0

past 2 weeks shopping at tesco we have used a £10 off (£60 spend) voucher printed from the net for use at morrisons, next 2 weeks we have £6 off vouchers to use from somerfield/co-op.. they have a decent selection of things. the prices are in par with other places anyway. and you get free points..
whilst it was nice to get 4 X on things 3x is still not the end off the world..
it will still feel like its a freebie to me when we go out for a family meal or visit a theme park..0 -
This is a money saving forum, naturally 99% of people are a little annoyed about the changes because we like to save (strangely enough). Why are the other 1%who are banging on saying its no big deal actually on here, cos to the rest of us, it is a big deal.0
