Am i being dim? How does double up work out better than using for deals at for times the value?
They dont do double up that often, maybe a couple of times a year.
It really depends on what you're buying, i managed to get quite a few gem costing me next to nothing in legal tender plus 1000 cc points back. I'm still smiling just thinking about it!0 -
You cannot use double-up vouchers on your normal groceries, only on specific categories such as clothing, baby, gardening. last time i used mine for pet food so that was OK but I wish we could double-up for our food too.0

Well said singingcactus, I shopped in Sainsburys for around 4 years before moving to Tesco. My nectar card has £24 cumulated on it from that time (and the occasional shop in Debenhams etc), when I moved to Tesco I kept my vouchers when double up was on in September, I was able to use £100 of clubcard vouchers towards a double mattress on Tesco website (it was in the sale).
Your vouchers are still going to be 6x the amount when spending on deals when the change happens, an increase on 2x from last year. You're the consumer and you have a choice to make, continue shopping with Tesco or go elsewhere - I know which one I'm going with (and no i don't work for Mr T.)0 -
whilst yes I do shop more at M&S , and the odd look at Lidl I still find Tesco the best for majority of your needs. Other than the odd Blockbuster rental having difficulty using my Nectar points
2 holidays totally on tesco points via XL in the past . Not elated by change given it's also on older built up points , and on back of the cap on Virgin/ Cosmos usage, but well suppose just need to make the most of whats available.
Might do
£350 X4 on virgin holidays = £1400 ( max for a couple )
rest on GoldsmithsAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -

Gigglesfairy, yes you can use them on other things if they arent specifically for one place.
does this apply to all vouchers? as i have saved £190 goldsmith vouchers, hoping to buy some nice xmas presents but have only been to 2 small branches so far and everything is so overpriced. did find some reasonable stuff in their sale but i would have to pay the full price for them?0 -
Goldsmiths vouchers need'nt involve more spend, so long as you get the minimum £200 spend in vouchers.
A couple of years ago I bought a £2000 Omega watch, paying just £150 cash. Then my wife got a £2000 Ebel, but had to put about £600 towards that one.
I too have noticed that they are giving less points vouchers these days, but I no longer shop at Tesco half as much. I do most of my grocery shopping at Costco these days. The force is strong in this one!0 -
I was saving for Virgin vouchers. We go on honey moon in May which we have already paid for so was hoping to go somewhere next Oct time with Virgin.
If I transfer all vouchers before Dec, I still have 6 months to 'buy' my holiday........... Say I bought my holiday next March, is there a timelimit on when I need to take the holiday by? ie in March would I be able to book for Oct Nov or Dec 2011?
So confusing!I can't look into the future, but the futures where I'm walking to0 -

Christ someone who has fallen for their marketing spin.
They may be giving you an extra point as a bonus for now but believe me you are paying for it in price increases. In 6 months time when it has all quietened down they will remove the double points very quietly and you will only get 3x deals whilst still paying inflated prices."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -

Clara - yes, you can book ahead. How far depends on the travel company you're using - ring them to check. When we booked our Virgin holiday last year before the limits came in (£700 per person), we booked some 9 months ahead.0 -
think the only good thing to come from this is that they have said it should bring out more places where the deals can be used..
got about £100(£400) of vouchers atm so will have a look see if theres anything i can use if not will have to wait and hope some decent new ones come avalaible
thanks for the heads up though as wasnt aware..0
