Tesco Clubcard Deals-Voucher Value Change

I know it's a little irritating that they've changed the figures, but it is still free money at the end of the day. It seems a little bit churlish to get all cranky about it.
From what I've seen of nectar points they are completely useless - unless you can afford to go on overseas holidays. Asda, Aldi and Lidl, don't do any reward scheme at all as far as I know.
So clubcard points, even though somewhat nerfed now, are still a good bonus.0 -
if you convert them in you have 6 months to spend them as vouchers won't expire until June 11.
Quite a few people convert them into vouchers and sell them on ebay
I was saving mine to go to Butlins next year, so If I convert them in November will I have 6 months to then use them at butlins ?0 -

Yes you have 6 months to pay for a holiday at butlins which could be for the summer of 2012 as brochures come out over a year before.:)0 -
dont do theme parks, cant afford to go abroad..any other ideas of what I can spend them on before December?
I've just had another look. You can spend them on RAC membership, put them towards the cost of an MOT and/or full service at Nationwide Autocentre or Halfords, various days out, sets of books (maybe for Xmas ?), tickets for various shows in London, hotel breaks in this country, eurotunnel or Irish Ferries crossings....or even put them towards a Stannah stairlift! Who knew it?Hope is not a strategy.0 -
I am with Britannia REscue and I wouldnt change to RAC.
Only thing I can see that doesnt involve more expenditure is the MOT or full service.............but friend usually does my car service and MOT not due till June....I've just had another look. This is when you get double the amount of the face value off your groceries is it? I think I will probably plump for that. Hard times is a-comin hence my inability to use for holidays etcYou can still use them for the double up clubcard promotion, which worked out better than most clubcard deals. Does anyone know if they'll do another one close to Christmas?Ellie

Are you joking? We are talking about the countries biggest retailer who can well afford it. Why shouldnt we all be 'cranky' about it?
Do you work for Tesco?0 -

Am i being dim? How does double up work out better than using for deals at for times the value?
They dont do double up that often, maybe a couple of times a year.0 -

It isn't free money if you're paying Tesco between 10 and 30% more than Aldi and Lidl for items of much the same quality, and getting Clubcard points back worth around 3% or 4%, depending on the Deal.
On top of that, Tesco are making very good use of all the data you're unwittingly supplying them with every time you use one of their cards, and that's worth more to Tesco than the little they pay out.
If you really feel Tesco's worth the extra over Lidl/Aldi, you might as well have the Clubcard points, but you're paying more for them than they're actually worth.0 -

Because the double up scheme is against normally priced goods. The 4x (3x soon) is against things that have mostly been doubled in price over what most people would pay.0
