Any SAHMs have "help"?

I don't, I do have a lovely MIL who comes over to help me get the house clean once a week (which lasts about a day:rotfl: but lovely while it lasts) but I was daydreaming today about having a cleaner/cook/nanny and ironing person.
Do any of the SAHMs on here employ any help?

When i was pregnant and a mum of a toddler I had a cleaner once a week - but i was suffering from severe morning sickness and anaemia. But if you can afford it and you want to spend time with your kids then go for it. Why not - your'e a Mum, not a cleaner!0

No, can't afford it, but goodness knows I need it :rotfl::wall:0

you think you're bad, try being a single working mum0

Think about getting an Au Pair. When I had under 5s an Au Pair was sent by angels.
They have to get so much money a week (for us it was 45 pounds) and have a maximum number of hours they can work. Also they need to be able to attend local English classes.
My angel now has children of her own. She is still the sister of my heart. If you found this post useful please will you click "thank you"? It cheers me up. :j0 -

I've never had any help from anyone since giving birth (husband clueless and MIL and mother are selfish) to DS who's now 8 and i used to be a neat freak but life has taught me to let it go
as i cannot do it all on my own...it makes me ill (proof is trying to be everything)
So dust and scum do not phase me like they used to.....i can live with them for an evening or two! I work part time as a cleaner funnily enough...other peoples homes are gleaming..shame about my own lol :rotfl:0 -
Yes. I have a cleaner who comes in once a week, and also a mothers help who comes in after school daily. I have 3 children, one of whom has profound special needs and one is a young baby, and we are lucky enough to be able to afford this which helps keep all the balls in the air. We don't have any family living close enough to help out.0

I work school hours and have a cleaner once a week - it's a god send to walk in and have a lovely clean home. If you can afford it why not, as long as time saved is spent on your child/ren (if you know what l mean) if someone wanted help but spent their time on themselves it's for the wrong reasons.
Best piece of parenting advice l ever got was 'your child will never remember living in a lovely clean home when he gets older, but he will remember the times you sat playing his games with him.'

I have a cleaner twice a week, I work from home though and as a single mum of 4 including 2 under 2 there is no way I would have the energy to do it all.
I would love an au pair but unfortunately dont have the room for anyone else to sleep.0
