I must agree with an earlier post though - the Philips 11w don't give as good a light as standard 60w pearl. Anyone else want to comment on quality of these things.0

Yes, I agree. I use the 18W bulbs (100W) in place of my normal (filament) 60W bulbs. The 'quality' of light the Philips ones give out though is great.0 -
I went to ASDA today and bought one of these bulbs, Philips 18W for 47p each, which is a good buy

What is the difference between these bulbs and the ones at £3.38 here ?
Are they ones more powerful or meant to last longer?
Or is it just the shape?
Thanks:cool:0 -
I noticed this evening that Wickes are selling Phillips energy saving lightbulbs for 99p. These are the equivalent of 100w ordinary bulbs. They seem to have just the baton bulbs (as opposed to screwtop). This was in Greenwich/Deptford Bridge area and I'm unsure whether this is a national deal but thought I'd let you know!Val

No-one has mentioned Dunelm. Our local branch had a good stock of the 100W equiva with the standard BC fitting. They are 75p but on BOGOF. I think this beats most other places currently.0

Wickes have the above as a while stocks last offer.
Seen today at the Chilwell(Nottingham) branch.
They are the stick type, bayonet fitting. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

John Lewis - 47p each for Philips ones.0 -
Morrisons are currently selling Philips energy saving lightbulbs for 99p with Buy-One-Get-One-Free, so that is 49.5p each. They only had the 60W equivalent models in my branch, and they were located near the cheese and margarine section.

Also on BOGOF is Maxell DVD+RW in library cases and are 3 for £4.99, so you actually get 6 for £4.99. These were in a basket near the fly killers
They also had packs of 5 Maxell DVD-R on BOGOF bit do not remember the price.0
