Morrisons are currently selling Philips energy saving lightbulbs for 99p with Buy-One-Get-One-Free, so that is 49.5p each. They only had the 60W equivalent models in my branch, and they were located near the cheese and margarine section. :D

Also on BOGOF is Maxell DVD+RW in library cases and are 3 for £4.99, so you actually get 6 for £4.99. These were in a basket near the fly killers :D

They also had packs of 5 Maxell DVD-R on BOGOF bit do not remember the price.

I Think this link will get merged as there is a existing thread for low energy light bulbs. but the ones You mentioned are only 47p in netto at a every day
    price. :money:
  • The Philips bulbs come in a variety of sizes. The dinky ones are great for uplighter shades and are available in various wattages.

Just thought I would write a quick note, there are 2 types of these energy saving bulbs, one that gives out a creamy dull light and the other that gives out a really white and intense light that is much brighter and more pleasant on the eye(but the second type is extremely uncommon!) and much more efficient because of the brighter light.

However yesterday bought a bulb from poundland and it IS of the brighter variety and a bargain at a pound.

My local Netto (Beverley) is currently selling Philips 18W energy saving bulbs for 47p. Tesco sell GE bulbs of a similar rating at £1.97 if memory serves.

They claim to be equivalent to 100W incandescent bulbs but in actual fact they seem to put out the same sort of light as a 40W or 50W, but they are perfectly usable in most small rooms.
