Energy Saving lightbulb offers

  • There have been plenty of the Phillips 47p energy-saving bulbs in my local Asda for weeks, so it seems to be a permanent price rather than a short-term offer. This is North Swindon Orbital Park Asda. I'm now at the stage where I have to stop myself buying them because I've got them in every light and have enough spares to last for a few years!

Just been to my local Homebase (Grimsby), and in one of their clearance bins, by the lighting department, they have 'Premier lightbulbs', that are supposed to last 3 times longer than ordinary lightbulbs, at 29p for a pack of two. They had a lot of the wide bayonet cap, thin screw in and halogen ones. Seemed a good price for longer lasting lightbulbs. Had loads left even after me stocking up on the wide bayonet cap ones. Not sure if this nationwide but worth a look next time your in there.

In Netto today and I noticed that they are selling 18 watt low energy light bulbs for just 47p,and I think this is a every day price. This must be the cheapest low energy bulb available. but if Anybody Knows where they are available cheaper could You post it here.Cheers Dave
  • Just been to my local tesco (ollerton) & 11w energy saving bulb (like 60watt normal bulb) reduced from £1.97 to 23p

From now on, Philips economy/Genie energy saving bulbs will always be 49p or less at John Lewis. No short term special offers or matching other retailers - this is the permanent price!

(As mentioned previously in this thread I work for John Lewis)

Yep can confirm just 47p in John Lewis Milton Keynes today and a wide range of wattages (equivalent of 40/60/100) and bayonet/screw (the Philips are rated 6yrs at 3hr/day) - though the assistant did say (with a smile!) she'd spent most of the day selling bulbs!

There is an "Energy saving lightbulbs" thread - both these Asda & Tesco offers have been available for many weeks and posted several times before

Yes but posting the same offer again and again just clogs up the system and makes more work for the moderators and administrators.

A search using the words "energy", "saving" and "bulbs" would have found that the information already existed and was nothing new..

This "new" thread has only existed for about an hour before being merged by a moderator with the thread I was talking about, basically because "it shouldn't have been posted in the first place".
