23 odd socks!

I buy socks in packs of seven...white or black. When I buy replacements I get the same brand, or as close as. I never have trouble matching up socks for the most part. Sometimes though DD wants fancy socks but if one of a pair of them gets lost then she just wears non matching socks in creative colour schemes. Doesn't bother me.Val.0

I bet if you paid the kids 10p to find a matching pair the other half would suddenly turn up!0

My friend is in a family of 9 and just has a sock basket. When socks are washed, they are all just chucked in the basket, and everyone just has to find their own when they need a pair. It doesn't really solve the problem of odd socks, just takes the headache away from Mum!!!!
If you have a bag of odd ones, get some dye, and dye them all!!!!
My daughter and I wear black socks but the ones with nice bright colours at the toes and heels. Doesn't reallt matter if they don't match, cos they look ok for in the house, and no-one else is any the wiser!
Personally, I pair mine up as I am hanging up the washing and don't end up with very many odd socks.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

Hi yellowbear,
We have an existing thread on this problem that may give you some ideas:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

I bought myself a new 6 pk of socks just last week and can only find 3 of them and they're ALL odd......how the heck lol I don't think I'll ever get the hang of washing them without losing at least 5 everytime....hey ho!0

I cut a cross in my plastic milk carton tops and push the tops of a pair of socks through before slinging them in the washing machine.
Works just like the Lakeland jobbies - and costs nothing :money:. Job's a good 'un.
They last for a fair few washes too before they need replacing."Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

Hello Yellowbear, have you considered making sock puppets for when you are extremely bored, you could put on a play with them,0
