That is what we do also. It is sooo good for toddler groups ect as it is prob the biggest fundraiser of the year for most of them and it is so much fun for the adults to get involved aswell when they usually have to just stand back and keep shtum. I can really advocate going to a toddler group that gets tis done :-)

We received a venture voucher as a gift, wasn't impressed as we had to take off shoes and socks which we was not comfortable with and ended up with just the free photo.
Also when we was watching the slide show i noticed a camera pointing at us maybe for security or was they watching us and listening to everything we said.

As an aside, is there any way of buying the smallest photo and then getting it blown up?
Just a note on this and re the comments of buy the little photos and scan them in... The copyright of the image is owned by Venture (the same as with any professional photographer which is why copies of your wedding photos always cost more than a print if you did it yourself). Apart from breaching copyright if you copy them yourself (although I doubt you'd get caught) you won't be able to get any copies printed professionally as the Venture style is very obvious. If you do them yourself you'll probably have to spend some time in photoshop to get anywhere near the same results so don't presume that you can just scan them in and then blow up the image. They're expensive for a reason and yes a lot of that is paying for the brand association but some of it is in the quality of the printing etc too.

Not that I'm annoyed that my plan didn't work or anything :rotfl:

I used a company called 'Epic' in Bristol. We spend £150 on a large photo of the kids, which is surrounded by smaller photos. Everyone always comments on it when they come in. Of course one problem...we've had another child so need to have them done again!

Did anyone else spend loads on 1st child's photos , and then didn't bother so much with subsiquent ones? Or is it just me?

And don't forget that anyone with new babies get a free voucher in their Bounty pack...

I went to an award winning local photographer for a similar kind of session to the Venture one and - by the sounds of it - although expensive, it sounds a fair bit cheaper than Venture. I'd look around locally and ask friends and other mums of anyone they would recommend.

  • We had 'venture style' photos taken on a cruise holiday last summer - they took about 50 photos and we bought 4 of them, they cost about £12 each, bargain! They'd also sell you the digital originals for £40 a shot.

we have been to venture a few times and brought 5 pics first time and 3 second! third time we just had the free one, luckily wasnt many that took my fancy. then a friend recommended a local man. his set up is just like venture and the pics are just as good but a fraction of the price. i got 3 large pics for a small fraction that i paid for just one at venture.
i would take a look around locally as quite a few seem to be taking the same style now

We got given a photo experience from boots for christmas - it was with Venture.

We had a great time (and that is from someone who absolutely hates having her photo taken). There were several photo's that we liked which we could have had in a 10x8 frame included in the voucher but we decided to go for it printed on a board with no frame for a few hundred pounds.

It was expensive but the photo was great and we decided that we would have it as a treat - a kind of unofficial wedding photo as we had recently got married.

I must say that it made us both look great and like we were having a wonderful time. Our future kids are going to love seeing us like that!!

We would definately go again for another sitting (probably to commemorate another special occasion ) but would save up for it to be able to get the photo size we want.
