We had venture photos done a couple of years ago & I've got to say we had to be strong not to spend hundreds. They were lovely but we just got the small one. TBH I'd rather buy a good digital camera and give it a go myself than spend over £1000 on photo's.

I do like the boots gift experience idea though as that would get a bigger photo.

PixiFoto have a place in the new Mothercare store in Dundee (arent mothercare dear!) anyway spotted them and had a wee look as had already posted re Venture photos the other day, there was no sign of baskets or pain pallets and it did seem quite modern so maybe they have updated the style. Have a look at the link there are a few offers on there. Havent used them so can't recommend:confused: Does anyone else think those Anne Geddes photos of babies are WIERD:eek:
  • We had photos done with them about 2 years ago now. My daughter was just over 1.
Yep, we were the silly suckers that 'won a free sitting and photo (cant remember what size)'. We went, had a lovely time. Took DD favourite toys with and had some real natural photos done.
Went for the viewing and it was so hard to chose which pictures/frames that we wanted.
Anyways, to cut a long story short, we paid about £1600 for two large framed pictures.
They may have been expensive, but they are wonderful memories and everytime people come to our house they always compliment us on them.

Would I pay that again? Dont know!!

I've pm'd you the details of the photograher we're planning to use - all we've got to do is get round to booking it before our kids grow any older!!
  • Hi

We went for our Venture viewing yesterday and have just read this thread. There are a lot of positive comments about this company and I can't argur that the photos are good.

However, I was not so strong and am feeling that I have been pressured into spending £1870 on my photos.

Is there any way I can get out of this contract now? I can't really afford this!
By the way - I got my voucher at a party and it cost £35

    Beware!!

I am plasterer & this past week was working at a property where they had the Ice frame as above on the chimney breast,it looked great, the customer was telling me all about it.
Apparrently you can take the cubes out and replace them with new photos @ a cost of £300 per 3.

I do so many family sittings of this style in bristol and even with an order of 3 10 X 8s you would expect to pay no more than £150 !!! have to say that venture are over priced but just like a hairdressing salon you pay more for the ambiance.
I do dissagree however that a student from a local college could do it as my white set up alone costs over £1200 and that is without the camera !

A freind of mine has some pictures done through venture, but as everyone else has said they are so expensive, my friend took the finance option for photos in total it will cost her £000's for photos I would never use them....

If it helps I know a guy in Bristol who is ex venture. He has set up on his own and has done some fantastic pics of our kids - we met him as my partner runs a toddler group and he came in to do some pics, and then pays the toddler group a commission on anything he sells. His stuff was really good and cheap. Not sure if I am allowed to name him, so PM me if anyone wants his details.
