  • Firstly apologies if this goes in the wrong place as ive just this minute registered on here and not sure what to do! I have to agree with the statement above by BounderBoy in that if I am paying this much money for photographs and im shocked to find out the memory stick is £750! I think with that you should at least be allowed the copyrights to print your own small ones for around the house! I was quite willing to pay over £1500 for the 'Metro Strata' biggest photo frame which I think looks fab and my friend had one similar so I am aware of the cost, however you dont get little ones to be able to take for your desk at work, in a small frame in another room as they want to charge almost £100 for 5x7, its a disgrace! what do they do with them afterwards, it makes no difference to them if you have them or not, good advertising I say if you have them sat on your desk at work and people ask about it, where did you get it done etc, or in your home when you have visitors (esp as most of my friends have small children!), as you say, after so long they just get deleted! I always like to have a digital back up when spending lots of money on photos if anything was to happen such as damage in any way to the house or photo and they have deleted their images, you can never get them back, if you have backs up which you can print from, you are always able to save them somewhere else and know you have them forever. I emailed Venture to ask about this and the said no way would you be able to pay extra to buy the rights to the photos and didn't even tell me how much the memory stick was even though I asked the question, I was told to "speak to your local studio", so on that basis, this was ruled out for me, as nice as they look the fact that for the amount you are paying they wont let you have the pictures its ridiculous, and who ever said others werent as good quality I beg to differ, there will be other companies who do good photos, pixi photo I have used for the kids and they are good (but no digital back up but I hadnt asked for them but assume it would be the same) my wedding photos, alot cheaper than this...alot cheaper and hasnt faded done by a good, reputable local photographer I just cant seem to find anyone who does a similar frame to the Metro Strata which is a shame but hey ho, im sure I can find something nice where I can buy a CD with digital prints on as I know some who do that and to me that is worth the money! I want this to be a good photo and a special keepsake as it is for my 30th Birthday.

We had photos done of me and my partner at New ID and they were lovely and we had such good fun. We spent £200 and for that we had (after much bartering which you need to remember to do), 2 x A4 prints which came with the sitting and 4 8 x 10's. They also gave us 2 further 8 x 10's free after because they didn't put express delivery service o. Our order despite saying that they would.

They also have last minute deals too which are half price which is what we did. We paid £20 for a £40 shoot (or there a bouts, it was nearly 3 years ago) plus drinks and hair and make-up for us both.

We really loved the photos and even did some tasteful nudes too which were very sexy and again great fun.

Definitely want to go with the kids one day too (not for nudes, don't go misunderstanding lol) and when money's a little better we will.

  • Yeah I had a make over with Burlingtons & New ID in December with my mam and my sister which was nice, they did fab make up and photos of us individually and the three of us together, they charged us to get them on CD which we did. I have been to my local photographer today too who did our wedding and they will charge £175 for the images to a CD which is good too.
