i've only been using water for years because i have eczema (and a bit lazy) my boyfriend who's a 5 year med student told me i was dirty, and he was surprised i hadnt had a yeast infection. and said that washing with only water dries the skin out. i now use shower gel every few days.
    LOL that's Doctors for you!

TBH I should imagine it depends on your skin as to if just water dries it out

    Safe Affordable Body Care:

I'd like to take exception with the affordable bit. £9 for a 190ml shampoo - thats £18 when compared to an average ~400ml bottle.

£18 for a bottle of shampoo isn't affordable where I come from.

Soap is the most drying thing you can use, and 90% of people use that everyday - just using water is no worse than using soap. Obviously if you have very dry skin already you'll probably need a cleanser.

Hi , Hairy Knodel in particular, after reading your replys on this topic you seem to have investigated this subject a lot, can you recomend which products you use on a daily basis, as you can see from a lot of the post we seem to be struggling to find alternatives , especially shampoo etc.

Any recomendations would be a great help.

Would you knowingly put brake fluid, ovencleaner, floor cleaner etc on your skin?no nor would i but thats what we are doing when we use the majority of todays skincare ranges,i never knew this until i started researching this subject a few months ago and i was horrified by what i read.Parabens sls, parfum, dea, tea, peg are just a few of these nasty chemicals in our skincare. At the moment i use the new Tesco range bnatural, which has none of these in it.Ive also started buying a pure shampoo bar for my hair from a company online called escentual soaps £3.00 incl p&p.Slowly i am phasing chemically laden skincare out of my home.
