I would swop the pictures around put the 2nd one on as the main pic. The pictures are a little uninspiring maybe redo them and take some of the inside of the car. Maybe photograph the service history and post that online too. As others have stated something is only ever worth what someone will pay for it though. If you have no joy before this weekend I think £3,000 is it's value for a private seller.
definately more photos needed, and more complimentary pics, get some of the interior, when i buy a car i spend most of my time in the car inside of it. photograph the mileage on the speedo as evidence. put a lot more info in the description, convince the buyer the car has all they need, even all the standard kit like electric windows and traction control. but be realistic. we're in a time where people want economical cars, and small cars. it's all about MPG now and a 2.0 litre petrol Golf is on top of few lists in all honesty
i sold a Honda Accord 2.2 diesel on autotrader in June and got £1000 less than the parkers valuation on it becuase it is not cheap insurance and 35-40mpg. i had 15 photos on, of everything, including the ipod kit i had put onto the stereo to buttons showing cruise control. i listed everything in the description, including stuff visible in the photos, like the spoiler and 17 inch alloys... but i say keep the price more than what you'll accept as people will always try to negotiate0
