    I didn't even notice it was a 5 door.

If it does sell to a boy racer as I suggested, post the reg up so we can look for it on BarryBoys 6 months later with the rear handles removed, the panel gap stuffed full of filler and sprayed and a park bench bolted to the roof.

Cant really agree that there is no market at all otherwise why the hell did so many sell from new in the first place??

Agreed the car is not the quickest thats why I have ordered a A3 for my next car.

Just need to get rid of this thing first!

I think its that the 1.8T is available for similar money has affected 2.0 values. When new or close to new there was probably several thousand of a price difference, but 7 or 8 years down the line thats been eroded to practically no difference, thus the 2.0 has fallen well out of favour.

The Golf GTI, and the Golf in general, used to have a really good reputation. For example in 1986 the Golf GTI was putting our 137bhp and weighed about 1100kg. Yours puts out 116bhp and weighs 1765kg.

A lot of buyers were disappointed with the new MkIV GTI, with comments like "GTI is just a trim level now" being made on forums. It was a pretty nice trim level to be fair and a lot of normal folk bought them anyway. I have seen more than a few OAPs in Golf GTIs pootling down dual carriageways at 40mph.

Unfortunately, a lot of MkIVs also suffered intermittent issues, particularly with the electrics, that tarnished the reputation of the brand in the eyes of normal buyers. The MkV improved things a fair bit, but the MkIV is generally considered a more risky buy.

To throw a bit more salt into the wound, the less savvy buyer who hasn't done their research probably wants a diesel these days, even though a diesel may be unsuitable for their driving patterns and will ultimately cost them more to run than your car would.

So yeah, sell it to a chav.

It doesn't really matter what the engine is the car is overpriced by between around £1,500.

It's seven years old and at the end of it's design life.

    Drop the price.

Your advert does not say if it has an MOT or tax

Agreed, very poorly worded advert, it needs more information.
