I ignored vikingaeros post as like 9 out of 10 valuations online are a load of s**t. For eg below based on 70k which is 10k more than mine. So judging by this mine is also bang on.
Guide Price
View exampleA car's value is directly affected by its mileage and fitted options, anywhere from £100 to £10,000. Original Price£15,590
Franchised Dealer£4,395
Independent Dealer£4,080
Private Good £3,455
Private Poor £2,395
Part Exchange£2,590
and for you to say I would be still selling in 6 months by only dropping a few hundred pounds clearly shows that selling cars (just like me) is not one of your strong points. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
All I was doing was posting on here to see if anyone could give me any pointers for other sites to use etc
o got someone coming round to look at it tonight
Have to agree with Hintza - i'd see that car making around £2500, maybe a little more.
You *may* get more if you wait long enough and get the right victim as others have suggested, but £2500 sounds about right.
No doubt you'll come back on here saying how someone gave you full asking price and that we were all wrong

If it's been in your family since new why isn't it 'Full Service History'? That's something I always look for.A problem shared is a problem multiplied.

I have got it on autotrader for £3995 and ebay for £3645
Just had another person enquire from autotrader though!
This is the ad -

Those images are terrible, they make the car look tired, uncared for and knackered.
Do some looking around on the web, get an idea of what angle's look good in a photo of a Golf, pick a good clear day, use a decent camera and get some photo's of your car in all it's glory.
Image sells first, words come second.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Ive just done a search on autotrader and narrowed it down to Golf GTi 2.0's under £4000 and less than 60k and there were 129 nationally.
Cheapest was £2495 for a W reg 3 door one done 58k from a dealer...
the X reg3 door in silver done 56k for £2900
03 plate 3 door done 60k for 2995 from a dealer...
Shall I continue...?
Oh, guess what page the OP's was on...? LOL!0 -

Had someone come round last night and take a look. Coming back with their dad on Saturday. Also got someone coming round tonight. Trust me I wont lie but I am very confident of selling for £3500 + but for you to say £2500 is waaaaaay of the mark.0 -
2500 is more realistic! Ok, maybe 2995 is actually. Big selection out there for people to chose from. And for 3000 you can buy one from a dealer with a warranty...0

The first thing that person from last night will do is tell his mates who will rib him for it being the 115BHP version. Then he'll read the online reviews of the car, then he'll check prices of other similar cars. I'd be surprised if you saw him again.
I'm pleased that all of a sudden you've got some interest in the car - since you started to get negative info on here in fact.
As i and others have posted, there are many cars similar to yours for sale out there, and often with the preferred 1.8T engine for between £2500 and £3000.0 -
I will be very impressed if you get it away at any price over £3k. I wish you good luck.
Let us know how you get on.0 -
Wonder if some of the phone calls could have come from people on here. Cruel, but funny...0
