Hey Essex, just catching up with your diary - going to try out those recipes, have copied and pasted them to email to myself! What kind of milk do you freeze? I tried to freeze skimmed milk before but it came out looking yellow so I binned it - am I a numpty or what?!

Oh dear.....how can I say this nicely...! ;) It always comes out looking slightly yellowish, but normalises again as it defrosts. I only freeze the skimmed but I believe you can do semi as well. I do the emailing things that I want to keep safe or remember to myself too - so glad it's not just me! :p

Been out and about shopping today - and got a few bargains. Firstly Lidl this morning - 2 x packs of frying steak, 2 x big tins of Pink Salmon, 1kg clementines, 1kg Parsnips and a jar of pesto - total spend £6.24. This afternoon we popped into Morrisons, Sainsburys and Tescos to get the bits we wanted, and managed to get a 2.5kg bag of potatoes reduced to 34p! :D Grocery budget is looking OK at the moment - the daily average spend is high but that's being distorted by being so early in the month.

The big news here is that the company I have been doing some work for over the past couple of weeks have decided they want to keep me on 2 days a week - so my new business has its first client. I'm going to be doing freelance admin work for small businesses - the sort of companies who would ideally employ someone part time to do the paperwork, but can't afford or justify employing someone with all the expenses that entails, so instead they can book me for anything from a few hours once a week. Having that long term two days a week booked means I have my "safety net" for income, now all I need to do is find a few more companies that can benefit from my talent for cracking through dull paperwork, organising systems and revolutionising filing systems so people can actually find the document they are looking for! A big THANK YOU to the girls (& Mike!) over on MG's Matrix for making me feel that anything is possible!

Final Avon tally looks like being orders totalling just under £240 which I'm very happy with - I lose a bit of a chunk off my commission this time round because as well as the usual books for a future campaign, I also have to pay £7.50 admin / setup fee to Avon, plus I'm ordering a few cheapie items to use as free gifts for customers etc. I'm impressed though - I'm not ordering ANYTHING for myself - how good am I?!

Jobs for tomorrow must include checking where we are at with the banking. My next money from my regular two days now will be when I invoice them at the end of November so what we have right now will have to last. On the plus side, my old company are still insisting that they are paying me notice (odd, considering I resigned without giving them any notice!) and have also decided that they think I have 8.5 days holiday which they are paying me for! :j The notice money has to be put aside until we have gone through the tribunal proceedings, but as I have in writing from them the number of days hols they are paying me, I can take account of that money as soon as it turns up so that will be transferred into the holiday savings account. :D

    50 day challenge progress:

    1) Ask the Universe for a copy of The Secret :DThanks to Scottishlass I have a copy of the ebook....and have made a start on reading it!
    2) Overhaul my wardrobe. Not exactly sure how I'm going to get on with this yet, but I think for a start it's going to involve getting rid of some of the suff that's really tired, or simply doesn't fit, and isn't likely to again. Also getting alterations done where needed. Various grey and saggy items from a certain drawer are finding their way to the bin! Two bags of stuff sorted for the charity shop now, including three bras which have been lurking in the drawer for several years practically unworn. Bottom line is, they aren't supportive enough for me, nor are they comfortable in any way, shape or form, so off they go. Also several tops which I don't, for various reasons, wear, a pair of Next jeans which don't fit, some bits of nightwear and various other bits. One pair of smart black trousers set aside to go for alteration as well - I'll take those down there in the week.
    3) Complete Logo & Leaflets for my new business idea. (And actually tell you lot what I'm planning. I have a couple of small jobs to do with it first but then I hope to feel "right" enough about it to tell all!) Logo DONE! Logo finished, letterhead designed and an invoice blank, plus my first invoice raised and paid! :D
    4) Get at least three regular clients for my business. One!
    5) Continue with the grocery challenge & eating healthily Well the grocery challenge is still going there - and I guess if I'm honest so is the eating healthily, although we did have a cheeky chinese last night to celebrate getting my first client!
    6) Declutter, Declutter, DECLUTTER!! I need to crack on with this although two black sacks of rubbish have gone out in the past two days!

Ooh I knew I made a mistake throwing that milk out. I actually thought it was ok but OH looked freaked at the yellowness so I threw it out - yes I know where to send the blame!

I've asked the Universe for a copy of the Secret too - no luck (thought sister might have said to keep her copy when I gave it back to her the other day, boo). Need to read more of MG's thread, not getting the hang up this.

Well done on the clothes cull, just don't let them creep back in like I did.

  • I need a list to work from tomorrow I think as I have a lot to do:

Stick my key to my desk at my old firm in an envelope with a note to the chap who is going to sort out my personal bits.
    Post envelope with key.
Check, double check, and then submit Avon order
Do next lot of leaflets to slip in with Avon books, and get them printed if I have enough ink. (more has been ordered, and may even arrive tomorrow)
Get Avon C17 books ready to go to next houses.
Sort out Avon C18 books - remembering to take a book out for each customer who has ordered this time round.
Start an invoice for Client who is using me two days a week so I can just add each day in as its done then print off at the end of the month.
Washing from machine (it will run overnight tonight on the cheap 'leccy) onto airer
Sort another load of washing to go on overnight tomorrow
Sort out thread for DFW photographic challenge if there is enough interest following my post on Pippi's thread!

More stuff will be added as I think of it!

List onslaught - part one! (with added bits as I think of them!)

Stick my key to my desk at my old firm in an envelope with a note to the chap who is going to sort out my personal bits.
    Post envelope with key.
Check, double check, and then submit Avon order
Do next lot of leaflets to slip in with Avon books, and get them printed if I have enough ink. (more has been ordered, and may even arrive tomorrow) one set of leaflets printing as we speak - I have to hope I have enough ink for all of them! Leaflets done *just* - hope the ink arrives soon!
Get Avon C17 books ready to go to next houses.
Sort out Avon C18 books - remembering to take a book out for each customer who has ordered this time round.
Start an invoice for Client who is using me two days a week so I can just add each day in as its done then print off at the end of the month. Invoice started and saved, and yesterdays hours already input
Washing from machine (it will run overnight tonight on the cheap 'leccy) onto airer Is out of machine and as much as would go is on the airer
Sort another load of washing to go on overnight tomorrow Load is sorted and in machine but won't go on until tomorrow as we have a bit of a drying backlog! :o
Sort out thread for DFW photographic challenge if there is enough interest following my post on Pippi's thread! This is now posted up

Write to Sharesave people to ask for money back after leaving old company. Done - just needs a stamp & posting
Filing! Done (another of these things that actually takes longer to put off than it does just to knuckle down and do it!
