Panic... and then grab your phone book. If you have the persons surname and street number it really won't be that difficult to figure out which house number it should be. Next time check the books on the doorstep. I've previously had people place huge orders but forget to write their name or address on them. Two orders is a good start. Assume you're planning on sticking out the books you collected yesterday to a few more houses whilst you're out collecting the stryas later today so that you don't have a completely wasted trip if no one orders.

That's a brilliant idea re the phone book M2M! :) Not one that is going to work this time though as there isn't a person of the right name listed in the road. :( Oh well - plan B is to stick flyers through all the doors of those houses I collected books from that night asking the mystery customer to contact me - those are printed and will go out on Saturday morning when I collect next. I did indeed put the collected books back out - but OH came with me and we popped them back out that same evening - the stragglers (another 6) then got popped through the doors of some of the flats this morning before work.

No more grocery spending this week which is good.

Did my planned shop in Boots last night - to get the extra 1200 points from their christmas shopping evening. Spent £50.40 which was about as close as I was going to get it - and added up on my iPhone calculator throughout to keep track - got to the checkout to be told it was only £49.40  - thankfully had thought to stash a £1 box of cotton buds close by the tills "just in case" so dashed back, got that, and grabbed the extra points! :D I am extremely well stocked up for "lady goods", deodorant, cotton wool, eye makeup remover and vitamin C tablets. Haven't confessed on the "no more toiletries" challenge thread yet though - they are going to hang, draw and quarter me over there I reckon! :p

Off to Ipswich for speedway this evening - so will be a spendy sort of night, however, I won't buy a programme, which will enable me to have chips for my tea! Compromise, compromise...!

Hello Courgette! Lovely to see you, and congratulations on Gherkin too! :D

Taxi! Result on the house number - I popped leaflets through each door I had collected books from on the relevant night describing the order and asking the person to contact me - lo and behold I got a text through under an hour later! :j

Grocery challenge for the month ended up with a daily spend of £3.04 for the two of us & cat which I was quite pleased with. Aim for next month will be to beat that then I guess!

Today has been busy - had to drop the car off to the garage for a minor repair - under warranty thankfully so no cost there. OH picked me up and we headed to Lidl - I needed onions and they have 750g bags of red onions for 29p at the moment - a couple of those will keep me going for a while. I also took the chance to pick up a bag of plain, and a bag of self raising flour as theirs is still at 42p. From there it was on to the market for Crisps - also managed to get 4 tins of Napolina chopped tomatoes for £1, slightly dented but perfectly sound. The back here to drop the shopping off, back out again to the post office as I had to send the keys back to my old firm - they are being *sighs* difficult, let's say, about arranging a convenient time to cllect my personal stuff, so in the end having lost patience I said I'd return the keys by recorded delivery and arrange for a colleague to clear my desk etc. I also took the chance while we were out to collect the last lot of Avon books, one more order (£37) in there plus another lady who wants to order but was on her way out - I'll collect from her tomorrow. That order means I've definately made my minimum order value anyway so I *will* be earning something this campaign!

Off out shortly for the evening to our local beer festival - shouold be a good evening as there will be a good number of people there we know I expect. :D

    bargain shopping there...well done
    enjoy the festival tonight
  • Thanks Taxi - I did have a good time last night! :D Felt a little the worse for wear this morning but it passed reasonably quickly thank goodness. No sympathy in any case - entirely self inflicted! :o

Been over to my Brother in Law's this afternoon - Mum in Law was there too and also the four kids - although Nick (17) probably won't appreciate being called a kid. He won't appreciate the fact that his Facebook status now reads "xxxxx wears girls knickers on Saturday nights" either, but it'll teach him a valuable lesson about logging out when he leaves the computer I suspect! :rotfl: SIL made a lovely lunch including some delicious pumpkin soup and home baked bread - absolutely delicious and all so filling that I've only bhad a packet of crisps this evening!

Meal plans are done for the next week, and we did a good deed this morning as we scrubbed down the access ramp for an elderly chap along the way - he's a double amputee who doesn't get on with his prosthetic legs, so is confined to a wheelchair for a lot of the time, but occasionally gets a short distance with his crutches. Unfortunatley the ramp was covered in slippery green algae which made it dangerous for him to use, so we've scrubbed it down and got a lot of that off - he was really chuffed! :D

Bit disappointed that nothing has become payable from quidco this month as I was hoping for a £40 MoreThan insurance one to come through, I know they are horrifically slow payers though so hopefully that will be next month instead. Will continue to click Quidco, TBC and Pigsback on as close to a daily basis as I can. SIL was delighted In had taken across an Avon book with me and has given me a £23 order which was superb! Now up to £118 which means I'm only £38 off the nhigher order value for increased commission. X's fingers again that I can reach that from the rest of the books - next collection is Tuesday evening. I've then got time to get them out once more I reckon before order cut off date.

Right - off to bed now as have a bit of work for a small firm again this week - car-sharing with OH so have to be out early. Washing machine is set to run overnight with towels etc so will tumble dry as well. Final job to do online tonight is meter readings to British Gas.

    Night all!

50 day challenge copied over from Matrix thread:

Right then - 50 day challenge.

    1) Ask the Universe for a copy of The Secret :D
    2) Overhaul my wardrobe. Not exactly sure how I'm going to get on with this yet, but I think for a start it's going to involve getting rid of some of the suff that's really tired, or simply doesn't fit, and isn't likely to again. Also getting alterations done where needed.
    3) Complete Logo & Leaflets for my new business idea. (And actually tell you lot what I'm planning. I have a couple of small jobs to do with it first but then I hope to feel "right" enough about it to tell all!)
    4) Get at least three regular clients for my business.
    5) Continue with the grocery challenge & eating healthily
    6) Declutter, Declutter, DECLUTTER!!

Well, it's there in Black & white, so I can't bottle it, can I!!
