OK - clicks all done, and since I started doing TopCashBack again earlier in the week (Wednesday I think?) I am showing earnings of £4 on there - I'm aiming to try to get £1 a day on there for as long as I can, so we'll see how that goes. Wish I'd spotted sooner that cheapflights are on Quidco as well - 20p a day for them is worth having!

Annoyingly both OH and myself are out of milk so I need to shop today rather than Monday. I think I am going to take some money out of the clubcard plus account and shop at Morrisons rather than Tesco though. There is a sainsburys across the road to Morrisons too so I can pop in there for mushrooms. Got to think carefully about what else I need to get though. Hmmm. OH has just gone off for his rugby match so I have the afternoon to myself. we have also agreed that I'm going to take an additional £10 from the Clubcard plus account to pay myself back what I have spent out of my own pocket on groceries so the £10 will be replenished! :T

OK - next task before I go shopping is, I think, to check out the freezer to do a meal plan for next week.

OK - time for a little update on the grocery front I think.

This morning OH was getting his haircut, which is next door to Lidl, so I remembered to ask him to pick up a bag of apples as they had good sized bags of coxes for 99p earlier in the week. When he got back he reported that they were on a half price offer at 49p! :j He also grabbed a couple of bottles of squash but is paying for those himself, so this time those are not included in my budget. This afternoon I have got the rest of the weekly shop, albeit I needed to use three different supermarkets to do it! So, total spend ended up as £5.88 :D for which I got:

    4 pints whole milk
    4 pints skimmed milk
    bag of peppers
    400g box of mushrooms
    5 x onions
Packet of Korma mix :o (like Bombay mix!)

2 pints of milk will be frozen, so I won't need to buy milk for myself next week. (I keep a 2 pint bottle to transfer it into before freezing).

I've also done my meal plan until the end of next week, so for our main meals, we will be having:
Sunday Lunch: Salmon, roast potatoes & veg, apple & plum crumble
Monday : Stir fry with chinese bacon, and noodles
Tuesday: Pasta, Pesto and garlic bread
    Wednesday: Chicken & mushroom lasagne
Thursday : Cauliflower & Pasta cheese bake with toasted soda bread
Friday : Chicken curry with rice and poppadums

So, currently defrosting in the kitchen is the salmon, some frozen cauliflower, a portion of chicken and some L/O white sauce from the last time I made lasagne which I thought I may as well use up. Tomorrow will be a cooking day so that we have meals ready made for much of the week.

The grocery budget is looking quite hopeful. Spent £41.43, or £2.58 per day. At some stage I will go into Morrisons for meat as their 3 for £10 looks like about the best of the bunch. I was also looking at their fish counter this afternoon and need to start planning some fish based meals I think! :D

Please remind me, I should not need to buy any food through this week as we have everything we need for my chosen meal plan! :o

sounds totally organised for whole week meal wise..I really should do meal plans
  • I find it makes a real difference when I can get round to doing them Taxi - and in the current economic climate :rotfl: I think it's important that I do try to stick to it.

Went for a walk this afternoon - nearly 6km so not the longest but nice nonetheless, and OH insisted on buying me a beer at the pub so that was good! Popped into the Co-Op as we were passing and they had twin packs of garlic bread reduced to 40p each - so a couple of those are now in my freezer! Got to add that to the grocery spreadsheet

Started the day with a nice long to-do list, and have managed to get through all of it. :T Main thing was that I wanted to get a couple of meals prepped for later in the week, which I did. OH also stripped down our reluctant-to-work hoover earlier on and got that working more efficiently too which was good. Clicks also done - plus found another Quidco one which it seems can be done daily for 10p - fly.com in case anyone else hasn't found it yet! Have just added up what it is possible to get in a month just on a handful of daily clicks on TCB & Quidco and it's certainly enough to make a difference! Annoyingly though I've noticed that Highstreetweb doesn't seem to be tracking at the moment.

    Plans for tomorrow then:
Hopefully hear from the Avon ASM about getting started
Start doing some work on some Avon flyers etc that Mum has given me from when she was doing it.
Start planning some ideas I have for a potential self-employed business
Go for a walk - probably to the local RSPB reserve.
Eat L/O pasta for lunch :D
Stir fry & noodles for tea.

    Night all!

Well done on getting so much done and gl on tomorrows list.
  • OK - done so far this morning:

Pigsback & Quidco clicks - can't get into TCB at the moment.
Checked that I can do at least PB & Quidco on my iPhone - I can!
Washing brought in from outside and airer inside emptied.
Washing done overnight put on airer
New load of washing put in ready to go through tonight
Dishwasher emptied and dishes put away
Shredding done and shredder emptied/cleaned out ready for next time.

I think that there will be no point in putting washing out to dry outside now - it felt really damp and cold out there this morning so I didn't bother even trying the overnight lot, went straight for the airer instead.

One of the iPods I have on eBay has 4 watchers and a bid, the other has 5 watchers, so I am hopeful that both of those will sell. I must get the other items listed though - no excuses really as I can always delay the scheduled start date.
