Hi EH thanks for the two recipes. that is ace, i will have a try of them this week. However do you have any idea what Gas 5 is in electric?. I think you mentioned a fly.com offer on topcashback, but I couldn't find it. did I get the name wrong?
well done on your food purchases. I was wondering if you shopped like this before, or if it is now worth while picking and choosing what you get from where, just because food prices have gone up so much?
cheers
chev
ETA I envisage you being pleasantly surprised by your first avon order!I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Are you up and running with the Avon now, then? Fingers crossed for lots of lovely orders for you in the run up to Christmas!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Thanks for the positivity on the Avon stuff ladies! I'm trying to picture myself going out to collect the books in and finding LOTS of orders!
Yes Hypno - up and running now - the first books went through doors yesterday and I will pick them up on Tuesday evening with the plan to get them out again through the next lot of doors on Wednesday.
Chev - I'm a fairly savvy shopper anyway, but am taking it to new lengths at the moment with shopping around for stuff. Quite nice to prove to myself that I can pull the belt in a notch tighter when it's required. It's not so much the food prices having gone up (although they certainly are starting to - the Asda bread flour that I bought for 50p a bag the other week is now £1.15 a bag) as our income having gone down, that is driving it!
For oven temp conversions have a look AT THIS LINK - hopefully that will be right!
Sorry - Fly.com is Quidco!I have cashback clicks coming out of my ears at the moment and keep getting the two sites muddled up!

Hey that is ok, thanks for the conversion tables! i am with quidco too, so must start getting on with clicking with them as well. Will have to ask OH about clearing cookies though, as this computer uses UBUNTU rather than Microsoft windows so not sure how to do it.

Right - quick update.
The Matrix thread has inspired me to give some thought to a 50-day challenge, so I need to work through some ideas for that. Plan is we will started on 1st November and run through to 20th December. I have some ideas but I need to get some intentions down on paper I think.
NSD yesterday, and should be another today with any luck. Would like to say tomorrow as well but don't wish to push my luck or jinx myself!
Frugal meal planning also going well - I got the statement through yesterday for the CC+ account and the closing balance was about £80 up on the opening balance on the statement (we pay in £150 per month). Would be delighted if I could make a habit of doing that as it will boost the money we have to spend for both our weekend in Birmingham for the Good Food Show and, later on, the spending money for our holiday. I was a bit concerned that OH would start feeling a bit food deprived, but so far I have managed to come up with plenty of meals which he's loved, without breaking the budget in any way. :A
On the subject of the annual jaunt up to the Hebrides, I worked out the total cost earlier on, including spends, cottage rental, diesel () ferries etc. It was a bit _pale_ as I've never worked it right throguh before, but needed doing, and having discussed we are confident that we can get the money together somehow, so it's definitely going to happen. We've got until next April to [STRIKE]worry about it[/STRIKE] plan how we're paying for it so [STRIKE]shouldn't [/STRIKE]won't be a problem. We had £600 to spend last year which included a good deal of our food, a couple of ferry trips while we were there (one on foot, one with the car) and if necessary some of that expenditure could be cut - we could also shop more frugally whilst there at a pinch, the local co-ops are good for reductions.
Am now well on the way to getting a list together for the Boots shopping evening tomorrow night - I need to have a really thorough think through ALL the routine stuff i use that I will need in the next few months though, then I can make sure I hit the £50 spend. I'm sure I will find some christmas presents to get for people as well - I usually do, although thanks to the January sales I already have a fairly well stocked drawer under the bed with ideas for peoples presents. I'm going to do the "years supply of" box for OH again, but a fair amount of his stuff will come from Wilkinsons/Poundland etc.
Looks like Cheapflights HAS now gone from both Quidco and TCB which is a bit of a blow - I guess we can only hope that they do the decent thing and pay out. Fly.com still on Quidco at the moment so would be handy if that one stays put. Actually managed to get accepted for a survey on TCB last night too - can't remember the name of the survey company but they are the ones who pay 70p for each completed one. First time I have EVER gone right through one without a knockback!
Avon book collection this evening (and it's throwing it down with rain!) so keep those fingers crossed!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well, collected my books. One lovely lady has ordered £42 worth of stuff
, another £12 worth, but she's forgotten to write her door number on the form  and two more want me to call back tomorrow to collect the books - hopefully at least one of those will order as well. :j It's certainly a good start - I'm very happy with that. I have to order £78 worth to make minimum order value - which is the level at which I start earning anything, and the two orders tonight are a great step towards that so I'm pretty happy! Now got to sort the books out to go to the next lot of doors.....
