I screamed so loud 1st time I went round it :o. Fine now, but prefer it when it's busy then it just looks like lots of little roundabouts whereas when it's empty you are SO obviously doing something VERY strange

Tis very odd and you can always tell if it is someones first time round it
I like your thinking! Neither OH nor I will touch anything electrical as we don't understand that at all, and I am informed that next time we have a small plumbing problem Dad and I will NOT be allowed to try fixing it, as last time this lead to a somewhat LESS small plumbing problem! :o

I can paint, and wallpaper, although I don't like doing it. If we do get around to doing the bathroom this year I am hoping that MiL is going to teach me tiling too - she's brilliant at it.

I've come across a few MSE'er from our sort of area of late - it might be worth getting our heads together to combine on an Approved Food order at some stage to save on postage while still getting the bargains. Would be a good excuse to have a meet-up, too.

Best I go and look at the Approved Foods website then :rotfl:

An explaination of sorts would REALLY help here.

    I'm dying of curiosity.

Basically you ignore the fact there is a big round thing in the middle and if you want to turn right you head to the right so you are going the wrong way round . There is one in Swindon as well
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

OMG - we've three or four mini roundabouts here - which I'm quite happy with - that is scary! (TY)x

I think the magic roundabout is fun :D

I use it most days and literally need to get from one side to the other, so sometimes I go left and sometimes I go right :rotfl:

Also one near where I'm from originally (Sadler's Farm in Basildon) so have got used to them and forgotten what all the fuss is about :o - it is often quicker to go the 'wrong' way round when it is more roundabouts as so many people have to go the 'right' way, hehe.

I'd forgotten the Basildon one although I had a feeling that there was another one not far away so that may have been the one I was thinking of, without knowing it! For a while the chap who designed the road layouts in Colchester had a "thing" about double roundabouts which are odd, but far less freaky than that one!

It's safer to miss some shops out entirely - Boots, Superdrug and The Body Shop are top of my "risk-list" in this respect! :rotfl:

10 CD's listed on eBay this evening. I suspect they will not be anything that anyone wants to buy, but you never know. Cost me nothing to list them anyway so why not try. I'll try to find some more to list tomorrow. I have some other bits I may be able to put on if I can get the chance to photograph too.

Small spend on postage this morning - but only 10p in the end as I paid part of it with a stamp which was already in [STRIKE]my purse[/STRIKE] Oh's wallet. Have rounded my purse contents down to the next pound though as we put all change below £1 coins into a pig. This means that:

I have £15.00 in my purse
I have £5.00 credit on my mobile! (For anyone with a Blackberry or iPhone, and friends who use the same, WhatsApp Messenger can save you a fortune on texts!)

    Quick update:

Grocery challenge is on track - although I did forget a few bits that we did need this month when I detailed the stuff I would buy I've not bought anything that wasn't actually needed. I'll shop for the basics tomorrow but intend buying just Kitchen rolls, fruit, veg & milk. If I confess to not having stuck to this please kick me a virtual kicking.

Toiletries challenge: a few UU's up this month, but have bought nothing, nada, Zilch. I oughtn't to feel so pleased with this considering that it is, after all, only the 8th of the month.

NSD's : Pleased with achieving 5 so far - this puts me well and truly on target to achieve my stated aim of 15 in the month. This was one of my "January Targets". Another of these was making one night a week "TV free" which we did on Tuesday.

Bank accounts are OK - well, mine is suffering from bulimia at the moment - it keeps bingeing on money paid by Avon customers, before spewing said money back at Avon when their invoice is due! Joint account always sails a little close to the wind but a close eye on it usually does the trick to ensure that I don't get caught by anything unexpected. TV License came out this month (ours comes out quarterly) but I'd set a reminder so was ready for it.

EH don't trivialise the not spending on toiletries even though it's only the 8th. Given some people on the thread (lovely ones all) this is a minor miracle. I don't understand that even though i have a huge list of goodies i've never been one who 'must' go in Boots, Superdrug or Body shop. I think most of them have been gifts and i've just be very lazy about using up all the moisturising ones.
