Love the idea of a TV free evening - you get so much more done I find and the evening seems to last longer too.

It does - you're right, and I'd forgotten that! I must try to make sure that dinner is ready as soon as MrEH gets in on those nights as well which helps elongate it still further! Well reminded, thank you!

hi EH am sending you a PM with my details. I'll check on the 22nd, if it's a weekend i have a feeling thats when we're going to see the outlaws.

No problem, I will add you on FB in a second! Yes, the 22nd is at a weekend, it's a saturday. If that's not a good one we'll just have to sort out an alternative then! :D

Shopped this morning and stuck to the rules I'm pleased to say - got Spuds and MrEH's milk reduced in Asda, so £1.52 for 4 pints of milk and 2.5kg of potatoes, then mushrooms, courgettes and apples in Sainsburys - £3.28. Just need to pop to tesco in a moment for washing up liquid and washing powder.

Yes, MrEH isthe same - I shop alone now as a rule. I think he is entering into the spirit of the thing this month though and wll behave if he does venture in. We've room for nothing more in the freezers anyway!

LOL - I'm not THAT easy to find! ;) Try searching on just the first bit of the email address.....as that's not the same email I use for FB! Let me know if you're stuck and we'll exchange info via PM.

NSD yesterday, and as I am working again today I'm aiming for one today too. I have decided that by the time we go on holiday (few months time) I want us to be able to defrost and power down the second freezer for a while at least so that's an aim to start working to with the groceries. No further spends in that area since Monday although I have remembered tht as well as the other stuff I mentioned I also *need* to get crisps - we'll head to the market on Saturday for those.

    Two mini-challenges:
I have £5 credit on my mobile
I have £16.00 in my purse

I want to see how long I can make both last - not least because this Avon campaign has been terrible, so I'm earning diddly squat from that! :rotfl: Anyone care to join in on similar challenges? Hypno did something similar last year I see to recall......Personal spends only count, if I spend something from the joint account budget I need to reimburse myself as I keep diddling myself!

Have a good day all.....off to do some work now! :D

Morning EH, bet you can make that last ages!

Sounds a great idea to use up whats in the second freezer, saves something at the bottom going to waste as its been in there too long. My Mum used to have a clear out every now and then and whatever they didn't fancy such as Pizzas bought on offer in case we popped in headed our way - shopping c/o the house of mum is very :money: :D.

Another NSD here today, and HURRAH I have an extra days work tomorrow! :j As I will be short on income when we are on holiday we have decided that anything extra I get for the next couple of months should be stashed away against that. I have filled in my HMRC registration for self employment form this evening and submitted it too - scary stuff hitting that button as it's "real" now!

Purse - £16.00 all present and correct
Mobile - £5.00 credit - have only used free messenger or emails to chat to people today! :D

Pippa - am so determined to get the contents of the freezers used! I rarely end up binning anything as unused (apart from things like salmon bones where I had frozen them for stock and never actually made the stock!) but am guilty of constantly "topping up" supplies. I think in part it dates back to a time a number of years ago where we were seriously struggling for money and at times, simply struggling to keep enough back after rent & bills to buy food. At that stage, having stuff in the freezer often made the difference between eating a decent meal, and settling for a bowl of cereal. I need to remember that now we're not *that* bad, so my stockpiling needs to stop! Tonight was sausages (from the freezer! Hurrah!) with potato & parsnip mash, and baked beans. Tomorrow night will either be an omlette or egg & chips, depending if I can be bothered to do oven chips / wednes from scratch when I get in.

Will aim for another NSD tomorrow - I have MrEH interested in these now too I think - he was most disappointed to realise that buying his train ticket for work yesterday meant that it was NOT a NSD! :D

Right, off for a bath now to use up some of my vast stash of toiletries! :rotfl:

    hope you enjoyed your bath.
I think i'll be able to achieve a NSD today which brings me to 4 but i failed on the making tea when i get home thing, OH ended up going to asda on his way home and picking something up which took as long to cook as what i had planned duh!
I'm with you on the topping up the freezer lark, we've been saying for ages that we need to empty ours a bit but then we keep filling it back up. We do have breathing room in there since we tidied it up and have been using things up out of the 'use it up basket'
