I would suggest you will find youths taking drugs wherever you live. If they are not doing you any harm and that is all you have to complain about, I think you are very fortunate.
I don't take drugs but it is really any worse than those who drink to excess?"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Theres been one of those set up at our local shop, it can be turned off during the day, and turned on at night, and it does seem to work. Not sure who funded it though.
Your local bobby should be part of a community partnership forum, they may have funds, if not, they should know who does. the forum/bobby could also have a chat to the local shop owners, who can be asked to mark their bottles and cans, then any cans left near the library, or confiscated from the kids (if they are under 18) can be traced back to the sourse, it helps to make the local shop more responsible towards who they sell alcohol to.0 -

Sometimes a trip to the homewatch (the local police bigwigs attend ours as do the local councillors) can work wonders at bringing it to people's attention.
Thanks. Our PCSO does seem a little too close to them, perhaps providing us with details that she shouldn't, such as telling us their first names and providing details about what they get up to. I haven't quite made my mind up about her yet, not sure whether she'd let it slip about who was reporting them. We are one of 4 houses who could be doing it. I've been in contact with our Parish Council and they just bat it back to the police. I'm rattling enough cages and building up enough evidence to ask more questions if this is still going on in say a months time. Sometimes I wonder if I'm making this into a bigger problem than it actually is. For example, we've had no youths there since Friday evening when they were moved on by the police within 5 minutes of us reporting it. It's more about wondering when they'll be back. I'm going to the next Parish Council meeting, but don't want to become too involved or visible for obvious reasons. It's for the authorities to sort out with info from residents. Thanks again for the reply.

I do agree. They don't cause us any harm they simply go about their business, however, it's within a stones throw of our house and when they're still going at 1am in the morning it tends to keep us awake. On one occasion they were on the library roof pretending to fall forward off the roof completely off their faces. One of them fell unconcious on with her legs in the road and they proceeded to run over her with a moped and then they all walked off and left her. We called the police who came and picked her up and took her home (not before plenty of passers by simply walked passed her and left her). It's this kind of thing that you don't want going on outside your house. One day something will happen that'll push this over the edge.0 -

This is actually a good thing imo.
Once you can name them and identify them you're a lot further along in dealing with it.
Once our nameless yobs became named and were much easier to moan about -
being able to be specific
"john threw bottles at cars" is better than a "hoody threw bottles"
PCSOs tend to be fairly useful when they spill the beans - as long as it's only one way.0 -
What have these youths done that is actually illegal?0

You cant do anything about it.
Its their lifestyle choice.0 -

ASB is too polite a way of describing some of these monsters.
Exactly. Vandalismn, graffiti, underage drinking etc etc. Unless you experience this you cannot possibly know how bad it makes you feel and how it impacts on your quality of life. It keeps our little un awake, which just makes me feel sad.0 -

I didn't really think of it this way. Quite a few of them have received warning letters so it looks like the process has started. Obviously these can be ignored and if the parents aren't, well, taking any notice, then it doesn't really matter. Anyway, having gone through it all on here it does actually appear that there is quite a bit being done to sort it out.0
