These don't sound like normal menopausal symptoms to me but I'm not a medical practitioner. I'd get back to your GP asap, especially about the breathlessness0

Well the handbag and taking your jumper off sound compatible with a frozen shoulder diagnosis, but I've never heard of it having anything to do with breathlessness. You could quite possibly have two seperate conditions. As an aside have you had a flu or anything lately, I know since my flu my breathing is nowhere back to normal yet.
If your GP isn't being helpful, see a different one.
As a PS you probably know this anyway but if you have a frozen shoulder, toting a handbag around isn't going to help!0 -
I had flu 2 yrs ago, developed breathlessness, felt poorly - blood tested for everything- diagnosed depressed - 4 months later both lungs were full of pneumonia
please hassle your GP0 -
Hi, thanks for your replies, I haven't had flu for a while now. Reading the menopause thread on here before a lot of people were complaining of aches and pains and I wondered if it could be related.0

PS, I need my handbag by the way, what else can I use0

If you're going back to your GP, get them to check your thyroid as well while they're at it. Both aches and pains and breathlessness can be symptoms of underactive thyroid and you're about the right age for that to kick in. if your skin adn hair are getting dry and you're putting on weight that you can't get rid of, then you definitely need it looked at.

Hi, I have had thyroid tests before but they’ve been OK so far. My skin is dry anyway as I get eczema and I haven’t gained weight but if you do get weight gain with thyroid how do you get rid of it? I might ask the doc to check me out again.0

Hello folks.
Been a bit low and so kept self fairly quiet but I think I'm maybe back to normal.
Lovely sunny day here and been out for 2 good walks with the dogs. Looked for snowdrops in the park and see lots of strong green shoots but no buds yet. Always a good sign of nature showing us to keep pushing through. Sometimes the only way through is through. I've been feeling that a bit lately and when things seemed extra difficult and a bit gloomy, I was mostly able to see that it was just another stage and would pass.
Food-wise I've kept up the healthier eating mostly, although having a pie for tea tonight. I need to get going with drinking water again as i did notice a big difference with my skin.
Re my dry skin on legs especially - it has improved! Don't know if that was because hormones got a good shaking when I was another one here to have a surprise visitor over Christmas. My moods certainly seem to have settled since then. Also, I was using that Vaseline body balm stuff in a pump container. maybe that helped.
We had our 'children' staying at various times over Christmas and New Year - 4 of them, ages 16 - 26 + one 18 yr old (male) friend and a 17 yr old long term girlfriend of one DSS so we know her well. It was lovely to see them all but by 5th Jan I was glad to wave the last away and creep back to quiet flat. We just have a 2 bed flat here which we love and is perfect for the 2 of us and our dogs, overlooking the park so peaceful as well. But we manage to squeeze everyone in when they come. However, I think it all took a bit of the stuffing out of me!
Anyway, nice to be back and look forward to sharing this year and meno news and support with you all.
Take care

you could think about a backpack style handbag, you can get some that look quite nice. Or maybe wear your bag across your body. Or keep it to an absolute minimum.
that said mine weighs at least 5lbs and my DH would kill himself laughing if he knew I was telling other people to ditch theirs0
