Wow! lots of us had periods since the start of the year. Weird?
Hippi, what do you use to cleanse? Since I started cleansing with oil, my skin has been much more balanced and I don't need to use as much moisturiser, or have dry patches. I cleanse with almond oil (Sainsbury's food oils, 250ml for £1.69 lasts ages).
I have tried DD's Superdrug Vit E face cream and think it's lovely.
On offer atm ,before Xmas it was 2 for £3, now it's 2 for £3.99, but still a bargain
http://www.superdrug.com/night-cream/superdrug-vitamin-e-nourishing-night-cream/invt/396419/
Tried the Aldi one but wasn't overly impressed. They do have a satisfaction guarantee which they honoured , so worth trying it as long as you keep the receipt and you can still get the money back even when you've used it (at least you could a few months ago, do check, please!!!!)
Away on hols for a few days, back Tuesday! Kindly thoughts to all!
love

Hippy let's know how you got on at the dentist - Hope the visit went/goes well.
wmf - seems like your heating will be cheaper this year! Not funny at all really.
Bronnie - have a lovely hoiday away.
Shykins - I'll give the bromelein a try when I've finished my mega pot of gluscosomine that doesn't make any difference to me but it does seem to help OH.
Well a nice dry day again but decidely chilly but not as cold as it was so off out in it.

Hi everyone!
Its been a lovely day here today..although was really c o l d and frosty this morning...bbbbrrrrrrr!
I feel slightly better now, although I do think January is an awful Month for feeling down.
I am one of the ones that hasn't had a period...not had one since about May last year....hopefully thats it for me now. (fingers crossed).
Hope you all feel better soon.0 -
Hi all - cold and frosty again here too dogcat. Had a lovely walk in the park with the dogs though as the sun is shining and the grass was all crisp to walk on. Haven't been over to the bit with snowdrops for a couple of days so will have to seek them out later and see if they are in flower yet. I see that Lidls have 'rustic' pots with little daffs coming in next Thurs so I'll have a look at them. I love daffs in the windowsill. Yellow is such a cheering colour. Lots of bird song in the park which was lovely to hear.
Well after being such hot stuff for many nights I was blimmin freezing in the night and turned up our hall heater at 2am (storage heaters and open bedroom door so doesn't take long for the heat to travel in). Nice and warm this morning though.
I've started wearing bright lippie again. I am a lippie fan but had been using more neutral colours for the past while. No more - colour all the way now . It cheers me up when I see myself as I forget I have it on! Such little pleasures eh? ha ha.
Stir fry again for tea tonight. May have a fruit salad as have lots of fruit in. Was going to make a big pot of ham hock soup but will keep that in freezer until next week.
Who was asking about dry skin? Hippee? There is a good thread on that in this forum -can't do links but someone asked about dry skin a day or so ago. Good replies.
Off now folk. Hope you all enjoy today and big (((hugs))) to those who are feeling down and might like one

I have to confess that I don't use a cleanser. After years and years of trying various makes for sensitive skin all irritated my skin, I gave up, and am now a soap and water girl - much to the dismay of both my daughters, neither of who would dream of putting soap anywhere near their face.
Admittedly, soap makes my skin very tight - but I have to use something and am now not in a financial position to try this and that to find out whether or not something suits me.
I must have spent a good 20 minutes trying to decide what moisturiser to get for my skin in $uperdrug yesterday - decisions are things which no longer come easy to me :rotfl:
The final decision was between their own Vitamin E moisturiser and in the N!vea Soft and in end I plumped for the N!vea. It's pleasant, and doesn't irritate my skin, but it has left it feeling "thirsty" if you know what I mean.
It's difficult, because so many creams on the market just sit on the surface of my skin (I hate that!) but in the last 6 months, even using up the last of my trusty N!vea DNA didn't help.
I used to use a Garn!er cream a few years back, but moved onto N!vea DNA to try and help with my skin aging. I have to get a bus to reach a $avers, and I can't afford anything too pricey anymore, otherwise that may have been worth a go again. Funds wont run to anti ageing creams anymore, but a cream that makes my skin feel like it's actually had something put on it would be nice.
Keep trying I guess. Will try the $uperdrug Vitamin E one next, and then the A$da Q10 one after that - so thanks for the suggestions everyone :kisses3:
Thanks for your kind words re the dentist - several bad experiences with them as a child and in my early 20's has simply left me terrified of them, and I don't think I will ever overcome the fear. Poor man gave me a strong anaesthetic that should have lasted for 5 hours, but when I still wasn't numb, had to give me another one...and he still hit a nerve right at the end!
Anyway-he's trying a "soft" type filling on a tooth that is cracked to see how successful it is. He says it needs a crown on it, but knows I can't afford one. He's a cracking bloke, who always does his best for me, and is extremely patient with me.
Good for you wearing your bright coloured lippy wmf - I'm having to forgo makeup altogether while my skin is so itchy and dry...I feel naked when I go out! lol - but you're right in how it can cheer you up
Still not feeling very upbeat, but not quite as down as at the start of the week - and although it's flippin' cold, it is lovely to see the sun again.

Hi Dogcat - glad you're feeling better too. You are right - January is a pretty rubbish month, although it hasn't been too bad this past few days & that does make a difference. My period came from out of the blue - I had thought they'd gone for good. Hadn't had one in months - September I think! I did feel so low - sure it was connected.
wmf - good with the bright lippy. I don't 'do' lippy but I may start. But I have the dreaded lip lines from all my years as a smoker so mmight not be a good look.
Those mini daffs are lovely. I got some cheap bulds a few years back in the pound shop & have a good show of daffs in the Spring & tulips after they have faded. Today I got two 'Opium' poppy plants in Morrissons for £1, so I was pleased about that. Morrissons do good plants if you get to them quick - they don't look after them once they're in the shop so they soon start to pop off.
Had a couple of tikas in Morrissons caf so that was a treat.
I wish we had dogs but being in the caravan & having elderly cats isn't the right time but we will one day.
Hippy - great you got the dentist stuff out of the way. Poor you with the fear of them - yours sounds a good one though - that's the main thing.
Glad you're feeling a bit brighter. I am. It's not good when you hit the buffers. You are right about the weather making such a difference - it definately does. The sun gives you vitimen D which you need.
With the anti-aging cream - I don't think it works really. I think it's all a bit of a hype. Some of the anti-aging stuff seems to be quite irritating, can give me a rash.
Have a good weekend all menos out there.

Hippee- isn't it difficult getting the 'right' face cream? What about trying to mix some plain vaseline into the Nivea Soft to thicken it a bit? My sister told me that when they lived in Alaska they were advised not to put on face cream with water in it if they were going out as it would 'freeze' on their face and make it sore. they were told to use vaseline type cream on their cheeks. Maybe I've said this already. Memory eh? ha ha.
I am half watching the Carol Klein gardening prog. I love watching her and her garden - even though I don't enjoy gardening myself and now we've moved we don't have one! Love looking at gardens/ parks/ nature though.
Thanks for the heads up on plants in Morrisons Choille. I'll have to look out for them.
That's the gardening programme finished so TV has gone off. I'm here on my own and love peace and quiet and either a book or a browse on here. DH, on the other hand, loves nothing more than coming straight in and switching the TV on. Ah well. I'm sure I do things which puzzle him:cool:.
Tonight's tea was very much make it up and keep it basic. I cooked pasta, put it in my bowl and then added chunks of blue Brie type cheese and lots of pepper. Had a side salad of apple, lettuce and carrot. Had slices of pear with the last bits of blue cheese. Aaaah...healthy eh? Then I had a Mars bar which I remembered was in the freezer. Yum yum. A glass of white wine too. So I didn't have the stir fry I had planned because I couldn't be faffed stirring or frying anything. Anyone else have days like that?
Hope the sun is shining again tomorrow. If it is I plan to go for a l o n g walk. Soak up all the lovely rays.
Ok chums I'm off for a little browse.

Hi folks- how are you all doing/
Despite the very cold weather at the moment, I am nice and toasty in bed! I start off cold but within 2 mins am roasting. No sweats - just HOT! Can be easily remedied by sticking a leg outside the duvet as the bedroom is freezing. Can't remember the last time I slept right through the night. I think I did it once in Dec or Nov. But I manage to sleep ok so at least I'm not prowling about like I did a few months ago. Just get up to the loo and at other times do some breath meditation.
Had a pub lunch with my DS today which was nice. Chose a hot chicken dish and had it with colcannon instead of chips (Irish pub). Have found that chips give me...ahem.. wind! This has been a disappointing find as, although I don't have them often, they are mighty tasty when I do fancy them!
Anyone use Groupon? I have 'bought' a hair appointment and also a massage so I'm looking forward to them.
Dry skin and itching legs and arms update - back to 'normal'. Don't know why really but wonder if the itching was aggravated by sweeteners in tea and also in Muller yogs + the sugar in all the fruit I was eating over summer and into autumn.
Ok, off to walk dogs and then head to bed with a book. I'm reading murder/ crime books at the moment. Think it must be because they are easy to lose myself in. Not what I would own up to reading normally ha ha.
Hope all are well.
