    Morning All,

I'm 54 and in my 5th yr of periods ceasing and menopause.

Although the symptoms are difficult, in some ways I like being older. I care less about the opinions of others, I'm happy to help others, but not to my own detriment and exhaustion, I've slowed down and am liking it.

I'm about 2 months into taking soy isoflavines (sp?) and the flushes are slightly easier. I plan to finish what I've got & then stop them and see. I should start keeping a bit of diary as I think you need to be quite scientific about it all, especially with a muddled & forgetful brain.

It's a lovely sunny day here in Kent & I have lots of washing on the line.

    Be kind to yourselves.

Just out of interest....thought it might be nice to state our ages on here...so we all get a better idea...of how the 'pause affects us with differing ages. I'll start ..I was 50 in May.

I am 54 now been having the flushes for about 9 -10 years. Started off mild and then became more intense about five years ago (so would have been 49 when they got worse and full blown).

Been taking them a while and no change for me so I will finish the bottle I am on + the second bottle I bought at the time (went and bought 480 when on offer 2 - 3 a day, they will last me most of the year) then I will not bother again.

  • Hi menopausers (ha ha is there such a word)

Well, I am 56 and been going through the menopause for 5 years. I had one little period about a year ago, which was very strange, but all my flushes and anxiety went just for a little while then. I thought I had come through the worst, but oh no, it has all come back just the same. I have a few flushes through the day but the night time is the worst. The anxiety bit is horrible, I wake in the night really worried and for no reason. I seem to be the oldest so far, anyone else out there!!!!!! Have a brilliant day everyone, looks as if its going to be a corker. :j

Hi all. . . . luckily I haven't been too bad lately. I have always slept well. Thankfully. I do still have hot flushes now and then...and a few Months ago had awful anxiety and panic attacks...so bad that I thought I was having a heart attack! I also feel much more alert at the moment..which is a nice change as I often feel exhausted with a 'mushy' head. I haven't had any periods for roughly six Months...lets hope thats the end...and I don't get any more....;)

Just out of interest....thought it might be nice to state our ages on here...so we all get a better idea...of how the 'pause affects us with differing ages. I'll start ..I was 50 in May....

I am now 50 too, and up until last month had had no periods for 6 months, then bam another one hit, and yesterday exactly 28 days later, another one, as I have always been very regular it seems I may be back on my normal cycle after a six month gap.....so don't count your chickens;)

This last six weeks though I have been feeling bleurgh, niggly symptoms, back pain, headaches, slight dizziness, it all makes sense now, and now this....feeling quite weak today (no surprise there though under the circumstances I wont give you too much info but I am sure you get my drift?:()

Anyway, nobody cares,;) washing still to be done, cooking and cleaning etc, so we just soldier on I suppose:D

If I am feeling up to it on Wednesday I will go into town and have a look at that magnet thing.
