Ok well I put this to the test and I'm pleased to report that I did not move the money into my current account until yesterday and today the DD transfer 'affected' my icesave account.
So who is your current account with? Other banks might have different policies.

Hmmm Just tried http://www.icesave.co.uk/online-savings.html right now and its down,
maybe my company firewall is just blocking that one site :rotfl: But then u are an optimist and I'm a pessimist ;)

I've never had any probs logging into their site.

    Hi

Thought I'd add my query to this thread rather than starting my own.

I have recently set up an account with Icesave, and during the set up I was asked which accounts I would like to link to it. (DD ?)

My plan was to link my current account, and my ING account.

They told me ING would not accept an electronic set up of this.

    So......

What would be the best way to move all my money (Bar a few £'s to keep the account open) from ING to Icesave ?

    TIA
    Horizon
ING, like Ice, both can only operate through a nominated current a/c, where all withdrawals and deposits have to go through.
Your one and only option is to link Ice to the same current a/c that is linked to ING. Thus the flow will be - Ice to current a/c to ING (remember, only if it is the same current a/c nominated to both).

I chickened out from spending hours on the phone and emailed to ask instead. Despite an instant automatic responder saying that due to the high volume of emails they would reply within 15 business days ( ), I received a response the very next day. You are indeed correct, the email says they are happy to accept both CHAPS and BACS transfers :)

    No probs, here you go:

Thank you for your email of **/**/07 regarding making CHAPS transfers into your Icesave account.

Should you wish to send your funds by either BACS or CHAPS please note that the account number and sort code you need to use are as follows: xx-xx-xx, xxxxxxx. You should also ensure that your bank quote your account number when sending the payment.

If you would like to speak to us further about this you can contact us on 0845 605 6050. We are open 8am -- 8pm, Monday to Thursday, 8am -- 6.30pm on Friday, 9am -- 5pm on Saturday and 10am -- 4pm on Sunday..

Alternatively, you can email us at customerservice@savings.icesave.co.uk

    Yours sincerely

I've never found the site down, and transferred money to the account by bacs on several occasions.

  • Hi,
Can anyone tell me if the online facitilities for this account allow you to set up regular automated withdrawals to your linked account or is it a manual process only?
Had this with a Bradford and Bingley and it was very useful.
Would like to open a new account with either ICESave or ICICI, but would really like this feature.
I guess with ICICI I can at least open an account for £1 to try it, but ICESave is £250 ;-(
