1) Use geographical number 0191 255 8377 not the 0845.
2) Ring when Coronation Street/Eastenders are on.0 -
Riviera_Kid wrote:The way I did it was:
Monday AM - Transfer money from ING to current account.
Wednesday AM - Transfer money from current account to Icesave.
Friday AM - Money arrives in Icesave.
Thus my money was in saving accounts over the weekends rather than in transit. Bear in mind for this to work you need to do the transfers in the morning as it takes three working days. I can't think of a quicker way of doing it for free
Thanks for that.
I will wait until the 1st feb before moving it, so I don't lose all the interest earned in January.0 -
Whenever I look at www.icesave.co.uk the site is down!!! Is it just me or doesnt it seem a bit worrying to put your savings into an online account where the bank seems to have problems keeping its websites up. I've seen other posts where there have also been problems contacting Landbanski. Its put me off for the moment although I want to move from First Direct as they wipe out a months interest every time I make a transaction, thus reducing the REAL interest by a 1/12 each time, robbers!!!0

Strange but Icesave has never been down when I log on. I have no worries about it"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Paul_Herring wrote:Until they bring out 'same day transactions' I wouldn't count on this. I suspect there are, behind the scenes, requests going on a couple of days before the transfer is made to make sure the transaction will go ahead - if the money isn't there the DD doesn't happen. (With possibly a charge from your bank.)
Ok well I put this to the test and I'm pleased to report that I did not move the money into my current account until yesterday and today the DD transfer 'affected' my icesave account. There were no problems with going overdrawn or the transfer not occurring. I think I even could have timed it so that the money hit my current account and the icesave DD could leave my current account on the same day with no problems. This was £21K transferring and no problems.0
