Anti road rage.

with one queue, at least your all moving slowly.
These drivers who use the blocked off lane until the last second don't merge in, they force their way in.
They force their way in because self rightous self appointed road warriors won't let them in because they don't like the idea of someone getting in front of them by following the rules of the road.
Everyone sitting in one lane simply extends the length of the tailback and potentially blocks access to earlier exits.0 -
Hang on a minute. Those pinchpoints are supposed to have little bypass lanes for bikes.
Either you're not using it properly or whoever designed it was an idiot who forgot to include the lane and you need to complain to the council.
The relatively new ones usually do but older stuff like narrow bridges don't.0 -
Ahh yes, forgot about those since the narrow bridges here are usually barely wide enough for a car and have comedy scrapes on the corners.0

I have to ask.. are these all likes of genuine incidents you've witnessed or just wishful thinking?

I've seen them all, and I do most of them too... but I have to point out I live in Dundee, voted the best place in the UK to drive.... maybe there's a connection there between being kind to other road users and the kindness that is (sometimes) returned.
I still see a load of tw@ts, but they belong on the other road rage thread.:DMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

As an antidote to the road rage thread. Does anyone have anything that other drivers do that makes them smile and makes the long journies seem so much nicer?
For me there's the different signals that lorry drivers use when thanking you for leting them in.
Left-right-left-right, left-right-right-left,
The drivers who thank you when you let them out
The drivers coming the other way on a single carriageway who see that there's a cyclist on your side and pull over a bit so you can overtake easily.
The family who pulled over when I'd broken down on the M1, made sure I was ok, then once my car was started again followed me to make sure I got off at my exit safely
I drive past other drivers and flip them the bird. It makes me smile to think how annoyed it will have made them0 -

I don't know what I'm expected to do, cycle over to the right and go the wrong way through it?

My personal choice would be to find the idiot who designed that and beat them over the head with a mangled bike frame.
Quick photoshop and I realise the gap is a little narrow due to my laziness, but this would be a far better design. The only improvement would be removing the damn thing altogether.

The layout is pretty OK in the original pic, what's wrong with it?
Green line is correct, cyclists don't have to give way and carry along in the bike lane.
Red line is correct, cyclist can carry on in the direction and car driver, yellow line will have to give way to cyclist, just as he would with a car.
Where's the problem? I'd rather this than speed bumps.0 -
The problem is that cyclists coming towards the camera have priority over cars heading away from the camera, but idiot drivers just assume they can fit through anyway, or simply do not see the cyclist, as stated at the end of the last page.
Basically this build out is deliberately designed to bring traffic into head-on conflict with traffic coming the other way, but fails to offer any protection to cyclists heading towards the camera even though they are the ones that are going to end up dead when an oncoming car fails to give way to the priority traffic.
Note that in the other direction, cyclists are given a bypass lane to avoid this obstacle altogether. Most pinch points of this type have a bypass lane in both directions.0
