Well done Sonastin! Fingers crossed for you :D I've been naughty and buying things from IKEA - my bedroom is half full of flatpack boxes so maybe I am jinxing myself!

I'm quite frustrated with my solicitor. She sent me a load of documentation from searches and from the seller's solicitor - one of which was a two page document of 'answers' from the Seller (but no list of original questions) so its just a list of things like:

    1. Yes
    2. No
    3. Yes

Also I noticed that on the sellers solicitors letter dated 29th March it says that they are waiting on us to arrange exchange. My solicitor has then put at the bottom of her covering letter that we are just waiting for the searches to come back for the Water and Drainage - what, the ones I received from her three weeks ago???

Been leaving messages since yesterday and sent an email but no reply. I want to complete two weeks today but I doubt its going to happen.

It sounds like there are a few of us at the same stage. The council recceived the searches on Monday. Hoping they turned it around the same day! Spoke to the solicitor who said he still hasn't received everything he needs from the vendors solicitor. He said he'd be in contact with me so I didn't need to ring him!!

We want to complete before the end of April, not sure if it's going to happen. The waiting and not knowing is horrible!!!

    Good luck to everyone else!!!

Well, the EA called back within 30 minutes accepting our 'offer'. Lol.

Even better, the house the vendors had their eye on was still available, and their offer was aceepted. And that's our chain. Hardly merits the term...teehee!

I'm certainly not counting any chickens though. My surveyor seems to be frighteningly efficient, and I'm concerned he will find something terribly wrong. Fingers crossed again. (I'm getting cramp now)

That sounds great though! To be fair - better he does find something wrong than you do at a later date :)

Our solicitors have been instructed - they called to confirm that they had sent stuff out to us. The mortgage app is in

Part of me is amazed it is all moving so fast - but part of me wants it to move even faster - we had booked a holiday before we found a house as we weren't anticipating finding anything so fast - least not something they wanted us sorted in a couple of weeks :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Starting to put the deposit into one account as it is scattered everywhere at the moment and some of the accounts need a few days notice before they release the savings.

We're in a similar boat too! Have transferred over the deposit to the solicitor. Have had most search results back, along with deeds and answers to queries from the sellers solicitor. The only thing we are waiting on is the local search, which seems to be taking forever :(

We have said that we want to complete by the 21 April but unless we get the search back soon, it's going to cut it pretty fine!!

:T search is back, contracts signed, mortgage money ordered...

all we're waiting for now is the mortgage funds to hit my solicitors bank account and it'll happen. Aiming to exchange and complete on Tuesday - sol won't exchange until he's ready to complete because he's as superstitious as I am about it still going wrong!

Only 1 more step to go... :j

Is this what they mean when they talk about the property market picking up in the spring time? I don't know if its because the sun is shining but things do seem to be looking better all round.

In a spirit of pure optimism, I'm sure rinkydinkpanther, Blodwen and theMoon (and any others I've missed!) will all hear back from their vendors snatching their hands off any minute now...

Don't mean to be a killjoy but I'm still so nervous that it will all still fall through!! I've told my daughter that we haven't bought the house until I have the keys in my hand. I do hope that that day will come soon!!! I don't know whether we are close or not!!
