Although looking at that Daily Mail article has galvanised me a bit. Only our living room has a heater, but has no door, so really must somehow find the money to put a door on so we can get properly cosy. I do so wish my OH was DIY oriented but it's me in charge of these jobs, and I'm a bit rubbish.
Could you not put up a curtain rail with a heavy curtain on it to at least stop heat loss and stop draughts??? I know a few people have done similiar.
I meanwhile brought a pack of safety pisn the other day to safety pin curtains into existing curtains but do you think I can find them now --- can I fudge.
Have also been making a list of other things I can cook whilst using the oven - am fed up of using it for one or two things at the minute so figure if I have a pasta bake in there/fish fingers for Ben etc I could at least pop in a tray of hobnobs etc.
Ben has also asked to be dinners a few days a week - that's £1.80 a time so have paid £2 each time as change is carried over. Think he wants to start going on a Monday (he has football in the night so good to know he has had a decent meal earlier in the day) and might send one other day too when I decide which one is more practical for us.
Just looking online and the local boys and girls club needs a youth worker to work in their tuck shop 25 hours a week. Monday to Saturday (with only 2 hours Saturday 10 - 12 and from 4 - 8pm in the week) plus bens membership is paid there so I could take him with me but would need Owen home by 4 to look after babe.
Found a data Entry one for 37.5 hours a week that is £15K a year. I'd be taxed about £140 a month on it but that would still mean I was bringing home £1,000 after NI contributions and tax. Might apply for it and see what they say. Owen has said if I find a job that brings in £1000+ a month he would stay home to have kids so would save us on childcare.Time to find me again0 -
Oh gawd just read that article about the weather. I couldn't help but laugh, "it might drop for the first time to 9 degrees on wednesday." It was bleeding 5 degrees here last week and that was at mid day!
Typical, they can't even give last weeks temperatures out correctly.
I'm concerned about wednesday but at the same i have to stay positive because if i don't i'll break down and cry.
Glad to hear she's recovering in athens, hope all goes well now.
annie56 oo he sounds yummy, aw sounds so romantic awww
Enjoy your day out with your new man and little girl.
Well finally got my and snips physio sorting out, him today at 3pm, me on wed at 9:30am. Its all good, finally.
Oh that reminds me need my number again to a couple of neighbours ready for the winter. Last year i popping out for shopping for them because the roads and paths were literately blocks of ice.0 -

Well you can't be as rubbish as me!!
Decided to 'help' OH with the decorating today and wanted to strip the wallpaper off the wall behind the bed. Forgot there was a support under said bed and pulled at it from one end.....
result = broken bed :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Need to go and find a replacement piece. Or failing that a pile of bricks to replace the bit I've snapped off:rotfl: Then need to 'fess up to OH....oops!0 -
Kezlou - weve been to our B&M today for the lego fire station and they have nothing in any lego, so glad we bought the fire station, but am happy to see that they do a fire staion as the staff in ours when we asked didnt appear to know what lego was!
we all have colds and cofs, the boys are suffering. Went into boots for cough linctus, its gone up from £1.09 to £1.75 and their version of calpol is now £4.00 and been removed from the health club offer so we no longer get a discount. I was shocked at the price increase.
Didt go the dentist, cancelled till next week - nose so blocked up dont think I could breathe properly thru a filling!
Poundland have some lovely smelly sets in, shower puff, shower gel and body butter - different scents including tea tree and pomegranite. May get some and add them to neices presents, the packaging was a little dented so I will just take them out.Mum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -

Oh dear! Us ladies should know our limits lol. Reminds me of the time I put up loads of bookshelves. Was very proud of myself until 5 months later when they all came crashing down around our bed at 3am. I had a split second dream of being in front of a firing squad then realised it was a thousand books all going "bang bang bang" on our wooden floor. I nearly had a heart attack!
Those look great offers sammy, though I really must stay away from BOGOF biscuits.I love the co-op pizza though.
For anyone who likes the youngs fish fillet co-op offer there was an even better one at Nettos when I went last - 8 youngs battered fish fillets for £2. Needles to say we have been eating a lot of fish lately.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -

OOH, good one. Might have to use that one another time. On second thoughts, as my DSs are both in their late teens, it might sound entirely wrong if I say they have been jumping all over our bed!!:D
My faith in human nature has been restored. OH laughed when I told him and said I was like a bull in a china shop! His reaction was probably helped by the fact that he cut a load of shelves the wrong length last week though and had to buy double wood because of it!;) Added to that, the kind man in the bed shop found me a spare in the showroom and wouldn't even charge me for it. So all fixed and no cost!
Hugs to all that need them.
