fantastic news LannyLee:j
sammy your on a roll! well done!:D the captions class thats how our black looks at us whenever its vets time !:rotfl::rotfl:
oo i'll have to try that shandyclover
Cat fleas:- The vets advised me to feed the cats garlic tablets (one a day) and spray tea tree oil everywhere. All of which i've done, apparently fleas can't stand garlic and its gives the cats nice shiny coats! Also both of my cats had front line last month and new fleas collars last week. I have to be really careful when they have them as one of cats is allergic to the fleas and everything else. So if we given them fleas then i'm sorry but there's no need for bad attitude.
That's why i'm so stressed because i've checked for fleas and we don't have any, if just one flea jumps on our ill cat that's it,she's on steroid injections everyday for three months and specially medicated shampoo for 6. Its cost a small fortune. Our last bill for her was £650  which we simply can't afford now.
Thing is told my OH when he came in and he was furious, apparently one of the neighbours had been in our house for less than a minute and hadn't even sat down. Only just stood in the kitchen, apparently the cats weren't even in . He's sick of them now too as he said to me they just taking they stress out on us and he said i (me) shouldn't have to put up with it. He said they alright when they want stuff off us, but soon scarper when we've got nothing for them.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:sorry annie56 had to laugh at what you said her in the garage.
Well i haven't made it up with my neighbours as i'm thinking "eff ya". So instead i went to send another parcel,(off ebay), and wandered round town with a friend. It was lovely, we haven't been able to do it since i broke my knee. You know it was such a laugh and we really enjoyed ourselves. I spent a whopping £4.50 while she did her shopping. so just scoffed half a bar of choccie before i start on with the house. I also need to cooking a massive pan of savoury mince too. Think were chilli tonight.
So tonight should be relaxing, got some chips (tortilla crisps, sainsbugs basic 50p for 500g, really nice too) and fresh dips (basics 98p, but lush). So thats us sorted.0 -

Good for you, not letting them get you down. Anyone who has ever had a pet knows that fleas just appear sometimes. We just have to ward them off as best we can. Think thats why we are all so interested in the lavender/tea tree/brewers yeast/garlic type remedies too.
I am horribly allergic to the flea bite and end up in agony. Even still, I occasionally get the odd 'visit' via the dogs. I do everything I can to keep them away, but short of getting rid of the dogs (never), its just a case of keeping a watchful eye out.
Your neighbour sounds vile. What I say about people like that is-Difficult to ignore, but well worth the effort! I doubt they got bitten in your house if you cant find any sign anyway.
Enjoy your evening of chips, dips and relaxation!:)In the middle of difficulty lies oppurtunity0 -

ooh i didn't realise there was an Ikea in Lincoln - thought we would have to trudge all the way over to Leeds from Grimsby - just need to persuade DH to take us there!!
Donut makers - we had one, it was a tesco value one and to be honest it wasn't very good, it only made 7 at a time and they didn't taste sweet like a donut should - no matter what recipes i tried in it!
i got myself a bargain today, i need a new coat and all the ones i've seen so far have been nice but i haven't wanted to pay £30 for it! but walking round Tesco this afternoon, i noticed a really nice coat in the kids section - tried one on(aged 15-16 yrs- felt great cos i'm 28 lol) and it is lovely so i got it for the grand total of £10 - i probably only noticed it cos it was in the sale!!!not allowed it yet though, have to wait for my birthday but at least it's something i want and DD(5) will probably lay claim to buying it for me once DH shows her it!!

I'm gearing up to swap to the winter duvet this weekend. Nothing worse than being cold in bed, it's my refuge at the end of the day and needs to be cosy!0

I think there is an ikea in Hull as well Dolly, but then obviously there is the bridge toll to pay as well.My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -
I was trying to tidy up today and was going through some old bits and bobs I'm not using, including make-up and ditching what I don't use.
Unfortunately I managed to drop a broken off bit of lipstick onto the living room carpet without noticing and trod it in to the carpet. I think it may have been a long-lasting one too as it was in a long, thin twisty tube. The main resulting stain was 4" by 1/2" and there were several smaller ones where I trod it round the carpet before I noticed it.
We live in rented accommodation so that wasn't good! I did some googling and got all sorts of suggestions but the one that jumped out to me was the idea of using baby wipes!
It probably helps that it's a man-made fibre carpet but, with persistance, lots of elbow grease, baby wipes (I only have them for when we go out and about so thankfully I had most of the free pack I got from the Bounty pack left) and a scrubbing brush I was able to get all trace of it out of the carpet! Took me probably over an hour but I don't care, it's saved us having to replace the carpet when we eventually move!
Thought I'd share that tip in case anyone else has lipstick carpet issues!0 -

Sorry to disappoint you, there's no Ikea in either Lincoln or HullUK locations here.

We're in a flat in London, quite a sturdy property, but my OH has a tendancy to open windows in rooms and then complain of being cold. Last night we went to the bedroom to find the window still open and an icy breeze flowing in. And so I closed all the windows and put the heating on. And reprimanded him. First time I've had to put it on this year and normally I would wait till November but needs must.
Hopefully we won't need it on regularly until the end of November. I've sent him to IKEA for some IRMA fleece throws(for 99p) which I am going to adapt into a poncho like affair. Thank goodness we finally have the double glazing. Next, some carpeting throughout!
My sympathies are with you who are out in the countryside and are coping with these exorbitant heating bills - or don't have heating.
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!0 -
