Kitcaboodle Thanks for the tip about baby wipes being good at cleaning stains off carpets. If they remove lipstick, they should pretty much remove anything I would imagine :T

Anyone looking for bread flour now Mr T have hiked their price up on mysupermarket it says that A$da and Mr s have theirs still at 50p and 60p respectfully
My god!! I've just checked and Te$co are 17p per 1.5kg value bag dearer than A$da smart price, 40p per 1.5kg bag dearer on their own brand SR Flour/Plain Flour dearer, and 79p dearer on Strong White Bread Flour, but A$da will no doubt follow suit when their stocks are depleted. Makes you wonder what the price of a loaf of bread is going to become :(

Have to tell you all. At the grand age of 57 and three quarters I have just been offered, and accepted, a full time proper job! I'd reconciled myself to the scrap heap because of my age, but I got it because I have the experience.

    Can't believe it. I've been looking for A G E S.

That's totally fabulous!!! Well done you! :T

Parsonswife..i know what you mean about brass monkeys...our bedroom is where the SAS do there cold weather training:rotfl:..i have to get dressed to go to bed..we have the heating on and it blasts the heat out...except for some reason our bedroom is always cold...we have electric blanket, thick carpet, thick lined curtains, huge duvet, throws and now and then we have had to put on the oil filled radiator to get it above freezing:eek:..i suppose it doesn't help with being over the porch and utility rooms but jeez its cold..its warmer on the landing than our room...the people who had the house before us had all the radiators put near the bedroom doors instead of under the windows:(..i wonder why...the other rooms are lovely and warm...when i had the babies i had to really wrap them up and got them in their own rooms as soon as possible...i reckon my hubby clangs his brasses together when we go to bed:rotfl::rotfl:...might take your advice and have a good splash o whiskey or brandy before bed...
    take care

i suppose it doesn't help with being over the porch and utility rooms but jeez its cold

That is the reason for the problem. You need to get under the floorboards in the bedroom and add as much insulation as you can without restricting the airflow.

And then work out how to keep the heat in the utility room and porch. Check the draught proofing first.

  • Brilliant news Jamanda, well chuffed for you :)

had a lovely day today, took back some boots that OH bought about 6 weeks ago, they weren't leather and had started peeling. The lady in the shop was lovely and he was able to choose a nice new pair, this time leather, twice the price but i guess sometimes you get what you pay for! As she handed the bag to OH she said "there you go young man" lol, made his day OH is 55! Then went to wilkos and got 3 paddling pools 75% off, 7.99 for them all!! One each for a great nephew and nephew, and one for me, to put my tomato plants in next year, apparently they should be watered from the bottom, so i figure i can stand all my pots in it!

Going to a wedding tomorrow, the sister of my daughter's best friend, we are invited to the ceremony, and then immediate family are going for a meal, and then everyone invited to evening do, didn't know what to wear, but dug out a lovely dress i bought in the late 80's, i nearly gave it away because it didn't fit me any more, but having lost 2 stone this year it now fits again and looks good in a vintage sort of way!! OH said it looked fab, so well happy with that:rotfl:
Was invited out tonight by a friend for a girlies night, but not going, feel a bit guilty but just love being with the family on a Friday night, must be my age.

Hippeechiq Baby wipes are amazing for all sorts of things... They really do work wonders in the home - I use them for dusting and wiping skirting boards, the bathroom sink, my headboard on the bed, marks on painted doors - You can use just 1 for loads of jobs :) no good for mirrors tho ;)

Oh and I use them as face wipes too as they take makeup off and are cheaper than expensive 'facewipes'

Only just found this thread! Glad to find you all, missed the companionship and help.
Well this week has been a nightmare :eek::eek:

Until Dec 31st was working. Job ended. Went onto JSA. Told in May by Doc' and Jobcentre manager not fit for JSA, go on ESA - been a nightmare from start to finish. Went for medical 8th July. Took'em 12 weeks to tell me failed medical, money stopped:eek: Eventually found out from CAB money will restart when an appeal has been put in, as I am still getting sick notes from doc'.

What no tells you is how you are supposed to manage in the meantime with no money coming in from anywhere. Nice people at CAB gave me voucher for local Foodbank, who were lovely, and I now have some food in (they said week's allowance), but will keep me going for 3 months!
Monday, have to take all paperwork to advice centre, who will help me fill in appeal form. Have 9 points, apparently needed 15 to pass medical. Also found out I could request copy of medical report (why don't benfit agencies give you this information) :( found that out on internet .

Apparently if I had gone to medical like a tramp, smelling like a pig, wiv me hair all over the place - it would have gone in my favour - but because I went neat/tidy/reasonably well dressed - failed :eek::eek::eek:

Sorry for rant folks Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :o
When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on
