For all those struggling with the housework, my motto is "count the small victories". I felt really rough on Monday, and the recycling bin in the kitchen was full. The big bin to empty it into is at the front of the house and up a flight of stairs. I didn't empty the bin, but I was very pleased with the 2 empty milk cartons that I carried up and put outside :rotfl:

Can I also add my dad to the OCD cleaning register please? He once asked his girlfriend to get rid of the house phone because it was making the living room look untidy and there was a perfectly good phone box across the road.

My small son and I live in a happy muddle. The kitchen is my first priority, so I don't poison visitors, I have a good sitting room which is usually tidy so that visitors do think I clean.....we mostly live in the front room which looks like a bomb has gone of in a toy/dvd/book shop. All ds's treasures that have been dragged home from charity shops/bought from car boot sales etc live in here. It's our comfy room and we love it.

And well done to sammy, that caption is great:T, my mum is always entering those sorts of competitions. And I too am one of the ones in awe of you, I'm 29 and couldn't manage half of what you manage to achieve.:A

As for tidying, I am of the, hope no one knocks on the door so they don't have to see my untidyness group:o. Will be all lovely and sparkly when OH gets back on sunday though lol, as of course it is the whole time he is away;)

Hope you're all having nice quiet relaxing evenings.

  • Had a quite productive OS/MSE day today. Took mum shopping to Tesco and got a few meat whoopsies and loads of bread/cakes/barms so freezer is full. Mum also gave me 2 new cotton fitted sheets (she finds them difficult to iron, very fussy ironer), flowers out of her garden and a lovey mirroir (sp?). Also my new tumble dryer which isnt really OS works out at 25p a load on the elec (yes Iam that sad that I did a reading before and after and worked it out) which seems pretty cheap to me.

Got stopped in Tesco by an E-ON rep trying to get me to swap suppliers. Turns out Im on the best plan for me and they carnt match it. I did tell him that and that I change energy suppliers a lot for the best deals.

    Pay day tomorrow too, hooray.:j
I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round
  • Got my best bargin yet at MrT,s tonight, 8 bananas for 10p and four of them are still quite green, four large pears still firm for 23p and a swede for 20p. This is the first time I,ve been in there at the right time.:j

v8monkeyboy I used to be a Ward Manager and employed newly qualified nurses. I always put a lot more store by the references from mentors or staff on your final placements than by the uiversity. Just remember that all Ward Managres are aware of the admin errors that can occur in the Unis. Believe me thay are happening all over the NHS. Good luck with your job hunting.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

  • It's one of those subjects that gets lots of discussion! In the view of many, it's a very helpful supplement that has been used for thousands of years. A dog would have to eat something like 50 bulbs of garlic to hit a toxic level.

As with many holistic things, there are many "scientists" who would like us to believe that only chemical treatments are good and that holistic treatments are bad...

I have a dog that has an auto immune condition that appears to have been triggered by vaccines, flea treatments and other chemical treatments. I'm happy with natural alternatives but clearly others should form their own view.

I remember reading a book years ago - can't think of the title now. Anyway, the author observed that whenever his dogs were out of sorts they would seek out wild garlic and eat as much as they could. Always seemed to work apparently..
  • don't be getting carried away with those hot bedcovers now! ;) I would have loved to have been a fly on the all for the conversation in the garage :D
