RANT ALERT
May i say i hate houseowrk, but do try and keep the house clean. For the past five months i've a broken knee cap which has only just healed and i can still barely walk.
Now don't get me wrong i hate fleas with a passion. I detest them, i hate being bit and i refuse to let people in the house when we have them. What i can say i have two cats who invite they friends in when either were out or in bed.:mad:
Now i just had a phonecall because from a neighbour/ friend who pee'd me right off last week with they shocking rudeness as just done it again. I've been blamed for they lack of money, er how, i never ask them or encourage to borrow money or spend all theirs. Now its fleas, because they cats never have fleas ever, even though its out constantly like mine and its my fault :mad:. Now according to them, one got bitten last night (i wasn't in) and about five weeks ago, they were bitten badly in my house (when i wasn't in again), but only decided to tell me today. Now why didn't they tell my partner last night. Why wait till he's gone out to tell me. They do it every time i'm upbeat, they see me smiling and then say something to make me feel or treat me like carp. So sick of it. They never complain to my OH or blame themselves for they own problems its always somebody else fault. I'm sorry everyone i'm just pig sick. so sick of being treated like a door mat.
END OF RANT
But i had a lovley day yesterday, spent half of the in agony chatting to a freidn then went out for an hour with an old firend. SHe insisted on paying for coffees. So i'd said i'll buy it next time. It was good, felt quite relaxed and upbeat till the above happened. Still i just sat on my backside so at least my knee and guts got a rest. If i'm not feeling well tomorrow i'm going to make an appointment with the GP. As stomach cramps and being in this much pain is just not right esp after five days.
OS wise, more picking toms and making stuff for tea and pack lunhes. I've had requests for chicken pie off DS2.So plans for today sort the house out again. Going to have a go at throwing five things out. Wish me luck!.
Do you use frontline for the cats? I useit for my dogs and when I had cats in the past....fab stuff. It is expensive, but I weighed it out against all the stuff I bought when the cat got fleas to rid the house of them, and it worked out cheaper! Prevention is more frugal than the cure, apparently.:)

Been lurking on this thread a while but thought I'd join in if thats ok.
Our union meeting at work was cancelled as yet again management are still refusing to give figures - rumours abound about 40% staff cuts. Been told I'm safe but don't beleive it til its over, and its still heartbreaking to see freinds and collegues going through it. Very glad I didn't stand as a steward when i was asked!
However remaining upbeat - I got a load of half price meat in waitrose yesterday - a chicken, a rabbit, some spare ribs and a small steak for a date night meal in with hubby this weekend. however I now have no idea where the whole lamb I have order will fit in the freezer. opps
Doing up our dining room atm which always feel like money going out left right an cente but we've saved it up for this and it will be lovely when its done. I am googling like mad to find bargains, making what I can and hubby is a superstar diy-er so although its a lot of money (for us anyway) I feel like we are making the most of every pennyPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

A waitrose has just opened near me. I never thought to look in there for bargains as it so expensive. I will have a peek next time I pass.
Know how you feel on the job front. My employment situation is strained at the moment and has been for months. I started off feeling really low and stressed, but as the months go by I think...nothing is worse than this stress so I am going to limit it...and I reckon I have.
You are already looking after the finances very well by the sound of it. It is scary, but when you are practical and enquiring of nature (as we are) I feel its a bit of a head start. I really hope that your job is safe and the info you were given about it is right. In the middle of difficulty lies oppurtunity0 -

It was a top tip from my mum - they seem to give generous reductions early on - I was there in my lunch break and already half price. I might try after work one day too - see if the reducations are even better.
This has been going on for months and months too and tis very draining on morale. We did worry about spending on doing the house with things being how they are - but then I figured heck if I loose my job I'll be there more to enjoy it!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I made a start on some housework-y type stuff last night...at least I put away some things that had been left out and did a clothes wash but our laundry basket is full to the brim again
DH and I have agreed to really get everything put away where it should be and clean top to bottom at the weekend then after we've done that we can keep up with things by sticking to the cleaning schedule I wrote months ago and stuck on the fridge and it will take less than 30 minutes a day to keep up with things. I do want a clean and tidy house and I want to know that if my friends want to visit I'm not embarrassed by the untidyness and don't have to spend ages rushing round tidying before they arrive. One thing that is difficult in the winter is that we don't have anywhere to dry our clothes, our house is a 60's semi with a teeny tiny galley kitchen and a useless narrow extension on the back where the washing machine lives but no space for an airer so we have to put it in the dining area so I can see it from the living room...it all makes me feel really untidy having our washing drying in the dining room but there's nowhere else to put it because of the layout of the house and when it's as cold, wet and horrible as it is now I can't hang it outside. So annoying!
Get paid tomorrowtrying to work out exactly what I have to spend after repayments and am going to really focus on sticking to that budget as this month I really don't have any room for being flexible with spending.

Rach - I've got room in my freezer for the lamb, if you need help. Purely being neighbourly, like
I'll even eat it for you

Well done
What was the pic and the caption you wrote?
Does the site sell dogfood? If so I would use it to stock up on that if you have somewhere you can store it :money:0 -

Absolutely! It's hard to keep your chin up with your job on the line, but try. I have just resigned myself to taking almost anything if I lose my job. It might be a struggle, but I am very tenacious when it comes to securing work. Even if there are few jobs about, I will get something I am sure.
Even though you are doing your house up it seems as though you are being very sensible about it. It always makes you feel brighter when its done too:D
Not near our Waitrose early in day, but might ask my daughter to pop in and look for bargains! Thanks for that:)In the middle of difficulty lies oppurtunity0
