gailey, the tunic sounds fab and you never know, maybe DD will be the envy of all her friends in her custom made garment - not a cheapy(?!) off the peg one. When DD1 was very young and I was a very skint student, I made her all sorts of clothes from eg old CS curtains (and one very fancy patchwork jacket) with funky details like secret pockets and assorted buttons. Even when she was a teenager she would draw me things with touching faith that I would be able to make them. All her friends were queuing up for their own versions.

My only out and out failure was a fancy dress costume for a seaside themed party when she was about six. She had her heart set on going as a worm cast (yes, I know) and in a fit of inspiration I made a cone shape out of an old blind, stuffed a load of old tights and spiralled them round it, to be worn like a dress with head and armholes. "But they'll know it's me," she wailed, "I wanted them to think it was a real one!" Er, yes. Sulkiest worm cast that ever went to a party!

Well today was day of nativity and got quite nervous seeing them all walk in on stage. All the other townspeople looked very different to my daughter:D although you couldent miss her in her patchwork quilted tunic which I shortened but think I shortened too much but whats done is done I tried.
Today was school kids, limited parents and preschool watching tommorow and thur is main parents so avoiding the shame of everyone chatting about her unique outfit like I say to hubby even chanel had unique vision of style:rotfl:

Do wish I could make decent outfits its not so much sewing I stuggle with its the cutting and the patterns.
Hopefully as years gone by kids will appreciate parents homemade efforts hoping daughter liked it although not convinced.

Must be week for funurals got one fri in wales so bit of a trek and lengthy as church service in hometown, crem next few towns over then back for wake at hotel.

Modern millie can certainly empathise with cartroubles bmw of doom playing up again think its needs new tyre 70 quid. want to sell it but needs some work and tax rebate no furthyer ahead as tax office appear to have lost details and say call back in months time.:(
Cant wait to sell it its truly jinxed.

I did hear on news that extradition order out for man who runs wikileaks not sure if thats to usa or sweden. Dident realise sweden allowed rendition flights for usa.
Really annoyed me when we had to extradite that poor mentally ill mna barry mckinan as he hacked into the pentagon.
My message to usa is be careful what you say and make your systems more secure 2.5million had access to these cables no wonder it got out.

Always thourght swiss bank accounts safe too.
Some of the stuffs been interesting.
This morning breify watched press conference in afgansistan with corrupt karzi thanking uk soldiers after slating them and thourght too little too late.

I saw interveiw on andrew marr with wiki leaks soliciter . money is not his backup policy he has possession of some very dangerous info which he will expose if they force his hand.
Do wonder if america or even russia may try and assasinate him.
Cant see how this will end.

Snowed here today and very cold.
Not worried plenty food in house.
15month old played up during nativity so missed half of it.
did pta refreshments and tea/coffee for parents after performance.

hubbys packing to go away on work trip not back until tommorow night so got to walk up to school later hoping baby dont kick off.
Plan do do some serious decluttering when kids in bed this evening and finally do my mincemeat.

On different note anyone watch kirsty and phils homemade xmas I loved it but love anything xmasy going to attempt the snowman pinnata and try do mini xmas party.
I love xmas despite being skint cant wait to go get the tree.

Every year the tree has a memory of story.
Always remember our 1st xmas in this house and our first xmas tree.
Hubby had low down 2seater sports car.
I was heavily pregnant with my 1st child.
Hubby picked huge 6ft tree too big only just managed to squeeze it in.
I was stick in back and couldent get out.
    We hit traffic.
Got home too high for ceiling, hubby chopped bit off top and cut himself.
Then decorated but he decided to move it and decorations fell off had row he ended up on sofa that night and 2005tree was tainted by sadness.

Now tradition is eldest goes to pick tree with daddy last year she got her foot stuck in a pallet at xmas tree farm.:rotfl:
Dont think artificial be nearly as much fun.

Anyway must stop waffling hubby needs me to sew hole in his jeans.

Unfortunately one of my chickens passed away last night:sad:..poor minnie..she had looked poorly on sunday and yesterday i kept checking on her and i found her collapsed and the others pecking her:mad:..so i put her in a hay filled box with a blanket over the top and popped her in the greenhouse..we found her stiff and cold this morning..i am quite upset as she was lovely and shy..but was slowly coming round to me..we got to bury her..but the ground is frozen solid..will have to try tomorrow..

Snowing here again today! Forecast says it`ll thaw on Thursday, believe that when I see it. Means we are stuck again, no transport and the roads closed. FTM, sorry to hear about your wee hen...I always hate it when one of mine dies, and I`ve been worried about them lately with the temperatures so low..they really hate the cold and look so miserable. :(
Still no heating, oil still frozen and can`t get anyone else to look at the system due to the road and snow and ice.
I find myself daydreaming of a balmy hot summer, sigh.....and it`s still December!

30 quid flowertot mum thats fantastically cheap amount.
We got lots of food but but need to do xmas foodshop.

    Not had most sucessful afternoon.
fixed hubbys jeans hes left for his work trip wont be back until tommorow evening.
Half way walking on school run was sick in my winter hat.
Baby hates the cold think we may get more snow.

when i picked up eldest she was upset as few mates in her class laughed at her during nativity:(.
Feel really annoyed as I guess it was because she looked different.

The instructions said brightly coloured tunic.
She was only 1 of 2girls in her class who were towns people the other girl wore a cream sari top. All the boys wore shepards costumes in brown hardly brightly coloured.

Feel really bad that my costume not good enough and daughter will be picked on now.

shes got 2 more performances to do tommorow and thur.
    Just hoping they go ok.
im sure to get few !!!!!y remarks off some mums.
felt so stuck making blooming thing took so many hours.

House looks like pit of doom.
feel so cold cant wait to snuggle up in bed with hot water bottle.
least dont have to make tea as have leftovers from yesterday.

got stuck in local pokey spar as they try cram too much in it, nightmare with a buggy but we had ran out of milk.
Brought some chocs to cheer me up as felt awful daughter was upset and im technically by myself for next 24hours.

I saw the arrest on news too. It worries me that usa are using this as easy excuse to get him on rendition flight to usa .
I fear their influence ie mastercard, visa and paypal no longer taking payments may increase anti american feeling and potentially more damaging then any leaks themselves as they out for blood.
Im no conspiracy theorists but all the trouble the going too make me wonder what to come maybe theres more stuff to be released that they fear. Also if we do extradite him to swedon on charges unknown and in swedish then thats used as ploy to get to usa will make uk justice system look like fools.

Ahh hun you too nice , got me in tears.

Think im bit emotional with hubby being away as much as he can be a whinger, like a 3rd child and not done much to help latly I do miss him.

He back tommorow night and my eldest whos huge daddys girl has been crying and whinging she missed him already.

Just hate to think eldest would get picked on over hm outfit.
Its not so much the mums its the other kids laughing at her today.
I know her schools better than most but most parents very affluent and hate for her to feel different in bad way.
Despite my best efforts shes unhappy with her oufit.
Shes also really bitter she wasent picked to be an angel or a star.

Always thourght it gets easier when they start school.
But shes even cheekier and more demanding these days.

    Babys refusing to sleep.
hoping she dont wake up 2 or 3times like she normally does.
Im so tired hubby said he would get up last night but fails to her cry.

Wish we were more organised over xmas but money hasent allowed us to plan as far ahead as would have liked not got that much to get and still making a few presents when I can find the time.

We not planning lost of extra food this year just usual monthly meal plans with a roast xmas day with few desserts and chocs thrown in, hubbys not big drinker so thats fine.

just incase no ones realised superdrug do cheapest choc coins at 99p bogoff also planning on buying 6lottory scratychcards and holepunchging corner threading ribbon and hanging from tree in hope that we might win something.

was planning doing lots tonight but think will get early night and work like a demon tommorow as out all day thur just hope hubby can manage will 2 of them. Do panic some days and wonder omg how will I cope with 3:eek:

  • gailey - the kids at our school all wear home made outfits (lots made by the kitchen staff), alot of parent at our school wont contribute money to buy any and if the PTA or staff didnt make them they wouldnt have them. This year DS1 is a kangaroo and Ds2 is a shepherd.

Helped put the school xmas trees up after doing toast today. The PTA were asked to help do the tress and wrap the presents off father christams, 2 off us turned up and we were doing the toast as well so we didnt get everything done. Its a shame parents wont volunteer their time, after all its for their childrens activities in school.

Boys have vial infections and very tired, there in school as they want to. Kept DS2 off today as doc gave us drops for mild conjunctivitus he sais it would clear up without them but DS2 teacher was concerned about the red eye he had. Ds2 has run OH off his feet today (OH day off), I think he will be going to school tomorrow!
    Mum, wife and dinnerlady!
