Flowertotmum,
I hope Sam is getting better this morning, and send you my best wishes.0 -
Hugs to Flowertotmum, fingers crossed for your DGS.
I haven't done my Christmas shopping yet, but yesterday I worked out how much money I have available & I'm really pleased.
£67 made on Amazon
£95 made on knitted scarves
£40 Sainsbury gift voucher (my birthday present from work)
£45 Tesco vouchers
£30 M & S gift voucher (hubby's birthday present from his Mum)
£16.70 dividend from Santander shares (I've got these free years ago when I had an Abby account)
Hubby has also saved some money & will give me extra housekeeping, I don't have any savings as mine were wiped out by buying new glasses & the bursars refusal to reimburse me, this is still being fought over, I'm hopeful of getting some money back but it will take months.
My DD's fosterchildren have returned home, but she has 3 more arriving early next week, so money needs to be put aside to buy gifts for any children she has staying with her at Christmas.

Well done on your money making ventures Hester
I was just popping by to see if there is any news of the baby yet, flowertotmum, I hope today has brought some sunshine, and that Fern has a fantastic birthday. Right, short moan before getting on for the day...MEN!! What is difficult about cleaning? It's taken me two days to teach DH that when the kitchen is as dirty as ours is (we've been building next to it for 18 months!) you can't just spray it with a spray cleaner, give it a bit of a wipe over and it'll be fine! EVEN when the spray is stardrops! He's got it now, but it's taken a while to introduce the concept of water to the cleaning equation. Flash spray ads have a lot to answer for!
THEN my 76 year old, partially disabled father is frantically cleaning the two bathrooms and has been since 7am! I've told him he doesn't have to, I've told him I'm doing these next after the kitchen but no, he's cleaning them with a car sponge (mine!) and bleach. Short of tying him to a chair I can't stop him. I'll have to do them again anyway as he can't bend or reach so he's only cleaning the middle bits, plus his eyesights dodgy so he can't see the dirt and he's never grasped the concept of toilet hygiene so has probably started with the loo and continued using the same sponge. It's lovely that he's doing it and feeling involved, but I'd really rather he didn't hurt himself by doing something unnecessary.
Right...off to clean the rest of the kitchen, have a lovely day all, big hugs for those that need themPiglet

FTM I hope baby Sam is on the mend. Hopefully this will be "lesson learned" for your daughter.
Pitlanepiglet sorry, but the image of your dad cleaning the middle bits with your car sponge made me laugh.
Today I will be attempting to make an ashet pie. I have these daft ideas once in a while. I also have Mount Ironing to sort out, so fingers crossed I get through that too. The house elf had minor surgery on his neck yesterday, so one of his friends is coming round to play quietly in a while. Hmmm, I'll believe that when I see it.0 -
I just wanted to come out of lurkdom to send my best wishes and lots of healing vibes to baby Sam. I hope he is feeling much better xxxxx0

Pitlanepiglet please can I send my hubby round to you for some educating. Mine doesn't even know how to use the Flash sparay, use a sponge or anything!!!!
Well, I'm just setting off to the Church Christmas Fair where my school is running the hampers raffle - well I say my school but what I mean is me! All funds go to church as we are a church school. Also have half my class there 'helping' run stalls. Feels just like another unpaid work day. :rotfl: I don't mind to be honest as I'm also taking my little girl and she's treated like some sort of celebrity by eveyone and of course she loves it. She even has the royal wave down to a pat!'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'
Proud Mummy to two gorgeous miracles.:j0 -
Flowertotmum - so sorry to hear about your grandson. I hope that he is feeling better today. I fully understand your need to get your feelings off your chest.
Everyone going/helping at Christmas Fairs have a great day and I hope you raise lots of money.

I'm so sorry, that's really horrible. Hoping poor little Sam has a speedy recovery
A word of caution re your daughter if I may. I would be spitting feathers just like you, I really would and it's totally justified. However, try not to burn your bridges by lashing out at her in the heat of the moment while you are all upset. You don't want to risk alienating her totally.... your little grandson needs someone with some common sense around (and your love) and if you go too far with your daughter, he might lose you
Hi..thanks for that ..i have calmed down..i have spoken to my daughter this morning..she admits that its her fault he got in this state..she does feel terribly guilty and is so down..i didn't have the heart to bullock her..so instead we had a chat and i very nicely and calmly pointed out that your stepmum in law does not come first your baby does...she knows how i feel about what has happened..she is a good mum but is easily led by this woman..who by the way will not be spared my wrath when i catch her...i had my grand-daughter here last night baby sams big sister..the stepmum in law wants to take her for the day..and after whats happened with sam i don't think so do you....
take careBe who you are, not what the world expects you to be..:smileyhea
