Ahh it's the trade off for him not having to go to work. I work, he does house things (although it's failing at the moment as neither of us have a job!). Send him over though...I promise you he'll be glad to come back to you :rotfl:
The trouble is I really want the place cleaned properly as its filthy from the build project. I want to know that I've scrubbed every inch so I don't have to do it again like this! He was wiping vaguely in the right direction and then getting huffy when I went over it again as "he'd done it". He's getting there now he understands the use of water in cleaning!
Cranky, I know, it's quite funny really, Dad's so determined to do things, which is great. I've just learnt to leave him to it and to whip round later when he's not in!Piglet

Thank you all so much for your prayers and wishes..thank god sam is slowly improving..he had a bad night but is now sleeping like a log...had a chat with daughter...like i said she is a really good mum to both her babies and this is the first time anything like this has happened..she is so soft but has a good heart and is lovely ....the SMIL is only 5yrs older than her and is a waste of space in my opinion..my daughter knows how i feel about her and was worried about me finding out that she had gone shopping with her and took baby sam with them..in the freezing cold..thing is i did offer to have him...so we all ok on that front..we sorted it out..but that woman is going to get it..my daughters partner agrees with me that this woman is a pain..he is going to have words with her too..he already told my daughter his piece but they all ok...
Have a full house here today...its ferns birthday..so everyone coming round for party later..going to save some cake for daughter and partner..fern has been spoilt ...she got a daisy doodle of us...boots,clothes,blanket off her grandma and grandad, elefun the elephant off her big brother, and some money off her uncles..so she is happy ..oh and she thinks the snow is for her birthday too...

I have just been sent this
It is very uplifting but you might need a box of tissues.
You will need to download it to view it. It puts everything else into perspective.
Just use the free download option. It is only a small file.

Flowertotmum - glad Sam seems to be improving, hope he's all ok and better in no time my thoughts are with you and yours. Hugs also to anyone else who needs them.
Well the snow has snowed in the night, thankfully only the decorative variety so far so in the sunshine it looks beautiful out there, bet it's cold though so I'm going to wrap me and the DD up warm and venture to the bottom of the road to the farm shop - been sorting out my Christmas recipes and trying to find a pork pie one I like and now I have a serious craving for pork pie and peas for lunch, just hope A at the shop has some or will have to get my OH to bring me one home from work (and Mr T ones not a patch on the farm shop)! On the upside found a yummy Nigel Slater proper pork pie recipe for Christmas. I'm cooking for the inlaws this year and our family tradition is to spend pretty much all Christmas Eve cooking buffet stuff and have buffet that night then after Christmas dinner is cooked there are enough leftovers not to have to cook for days, just have yummy buffet stuff out of the fridge.0 -
Flowertotmum- good to hear Sam on the mend, will add my thoughts and prayers to all the others, maybe a chat with your daughter about some saying no techniques may be in order, it sounds like her partner is unhappy with his mother so teaching your daughter not to dominated by this woman will be in all their interests, other than that you and the partner may need to talk to her together and get her to stay away.
Thanks for the grotto suggestions - the school is in a very poor area - only a couple are not eligible for free meals (my son being one) and the fayre this year is to encourage parents to come into the school and get them involved in a small way, its been agreed that the prices will be kept very low to encourage parents, I personally think charging £1 would be better, they are doing photos for an extra 50p whereas I would charge £1 for the photo too, its gonna cost a fair amount in printing, but as its a new thing and I am only new this year I will be going with it and maybe pushing harder next year for some changes. Will call into heads office on Monday and suggest buying 200 instead.
DD4 has been up all night sick again, apparently a girl in her class was sent home sick again yesterday so its safe to assume that she has caught it from her, am going into her school office on Monday to ask school to send a letter out to parents reminding them that if kids are sick they are supposed to keep them off. A lot of the parents are working parents and will put the kids into school sick as its easier for them, but its causing these bugs to keep going round and round, so the circle needs to be broken.
Today will be a NSD as I am not moving, its freezing here, with heating on full, and fire too I cant get the temp above 13c, am going to have to report that the heating is faulty on Monday.0 -

take care
Hi FTM - Hope all is ok with little Sam... I have been thru a load of posts but couldn't find your one that said what happened?0 -
My dad has just been with advent calendars for the kids, and has taken DS12 off to Primark to buy the black thermal vests, which obviously saves me a job, but also gets DS12 out of my hair, he is sulking and moaning cos he cant have a friend round this afternoon - I tried to explain that besides that fact I havent been to bed and feel awful, his sister is sick and we dont want to pass on her germs but he got cross with her then, so its a relief to have a few hours off!!
NOt seen Gailey about for a couple of days unless i have missed something?
Tesco have got a DVD misprice going on so have managed to order a couple as presents for Christmas, if they honour them I will be very pleased as its another few gifts sorted. Means I have blown my NSD though.
Off to make up soup for lunch for everyone and try warm people up, its so cold here I am typing with gloves on, and kids are wearing full thermals, clothes, gloves and blankets too.0 -
Very cold here with deep snow - temperature not scheduled to get above freezing and its forecast to be -5 tonight with heavy snowfall. DH is on call all weekend so hoping that he doesn't get any calls during tonight as the roads are treacherous now -with dropping temperatures and more snow they will be so dangerous.
I have managed to entice the two feral kittens in and have firmly shut the door behind them so that they will be imprisoned for at least the next few days while its so cold. . . . they are defintely not impressed with this benevolent gesture and after scoffing their breakfast, they have disappeared into the cupboard under the stairs in silent protest... but I would rather them be a bit miffed but warm and well fed than outside in the freezing cold.
Next job is chopping up scraps of bread and fat to feed the birdsand then off to the stables to bring the horses in and get them cabined up for the night. Our old mare has thick pressure mats under her straw in her stable and the yard cats have taken up residence with her as her bed is so soft and cosy this weather - just hope she doesn't roll over and squish them in the night  Flat cats=not good
Did not have a good shopping trip today - a lot of this weeks special offers had already sold out by 10 o'clock  although did get Toy Story 3 DVD for £7 by spending £30 at Sainsbury's - its for DD18 but still a kid at heart
FTM - hope DGS is on the road to recovery now. x:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

hello everyone,
FTM hope Sam is on the mend - I too cant find the post with your rant but it sounds bad xx
Have spent the morning at a new soft play area with OH and the boys - they deceided it should be my birthday treat - I wanted to go on the Liverpool eye. Its freezing here but no snow, just so, so cold.
Had some lovely birthday presents, smellies books and chocolate, the boys have half eaten my milk tray already, putting the ones back in they dont like after thay have biten them!
oH folks finally caved and have sent £40 towards a dehumidifier for christmas for us. I have put my birthday money with it and were getting one thats £80 from argos, Ive reserved it so should get it this weekend and the £5 argos voucher we get will pay for the argos voucher dinner service as we dont have enough plates for xmas tea!
our school not doing a christmas grotto, the children are asked to give £1 if they want a present of santa when he visits. Its sad as not all parents do and some children look on sadly. Its hard enough to get some parents to give their children 10p a day for toastMum, wife and dinnerlady!0
