I was in Aldi yesterday and super six seemed same as last week, from memory small potatoes, leeks, mushrooms were there at 69p.
  • ()s frugal. Have just about managed to catch up. Hope they get a rehab bed for your dad - it can make such a difference. Ignore the mess for tonight and enjoy spending time with your lovely friend tomorrow while you get things straight again.

Congratulations on passing your nursing course and getting a job! May I wish as much happiness and job satisfaction in your professional role as I had over a 43 year nursing career.
All the best for the future

Thank you Roseanna :) , your wishes mean a lot.

I've decided to take a job paying slightly more than the NHS but considerably less than other private nursing jobs, as it's exactly what I want to do, and the organisation seems good. It's medium secure deaf services for mental health either male or female, and will teach me sign language. I'm going in on Monday to sort out paperwork, for a January start :T

To think that this time last year, I nearly combusted with stress :rotfl:

Frugal - really good news. I'm so pleased for you.
Catznine and Katholicos - I have a friend with possible CFS and she has been battling 'against' it. She hasn't been back to the dr for a few months and I wonder if she is storing up more harm by working flat out and not resting much. Don't know what the advice is generally. Thinking of you both.

Thanks a mill for the cooking advice grandma247 and Kitcaboodle:T

Ceridwen, thanks for your kind thoughts regarding the almighty mess our finances are in! It gets me down and I feel annoyed too. I hope things get decided sooner rather than later – once we all know what we’re up against we can start dealing with it.

    Welcome Bayleigh’s Nanna

Great news V8monkeyboy! I’m thrilled for you!

Catz, that course sounds great – and well done to you for agreeing to be involved in running the next one.

(((((Frugal))))), So glad they have kept your Dad in and I hope they find him a bed at the stroke unit. I too wish I could make you a cuppa and take care of you. Try to take extra good care of yourself.`

Katholicos, how is your Dad doing? I am terrible for losing track of who has what going on in their life – sorry to hear you are dealing with ME/CFS on top of everything else.

Sorry to hear about the redundancy Thats Me – hope you’re ok.

Sorry if I'm missing anyone I meant to reply to. Hope everyone is ok and big hugs to anyone who isn't. And congrats to anyone with good news! :j

I've had a quiet evening catching up on here and trying to relax I am having a news blackout as I just can't take any more doom and gloom. And I'm sick of ads too so the telly is off and I'm listening to podcasts - much more relaxing. :) I'm looking forward to toddling up to bed soon - have felt yuk all day with tummy trouble, not sure if it's a bug. Hopefully a good night's sleep will help.

    Nightie night everyone. x
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

I am truly overwhelmed at all your replies about my Dad - I really feel I have some great friends here despite never having met you. Thank you all so so so much - if anyone is local, feel free to drop in (if you have impaired vision and can't see the mess ;)) xxxxx

Me too - saw some awful stories on sky news website... made the mistake of reading them and wished I hadn't... I rarely watch the news... I know bad things go on but would prefer to stick my head in the sand tbh as there is nothing I can do about it.

Suffice to say we have had a major incident near to us which made the national news, and possibly worse incidents which have remained local. I have no choice but to remain with head firmly embedded in sand.

(((hugs))) wish you, and others, were nearer xx
