Well done on no cigs since Monday and good luck keeping it up Frugal!
I get paid on Tuesday and it can't come soon enough, I'm thoroughly poor and also need to make a proper start on Christmas pressies. I'm being strict with myself this year and am absolutely sticking to my budget.
I managed to reverse my car into something yesterday (it was a low wall and I didn't see it because of how poorly lit the area was) and appear to have damaged the bumper a bit, I tried to clip it back on (it's just plastic) but it didn't seem to work so I fear I may need to take it somewhere to be put back together. I feel rubbish about this, I am usually a good driver but in the last week I've reversed into things twice. I also really need to get the paintwork on the rear door on the driver side sorted where I managed to scratch it when visiting the in-laws (his dad moved the car too close to the wall and I couldn't get out but DH said there was no point asking his dad to pay for it as he'd refuse to accept it was his fault even though there was about an inch between my car and the wall and I needed to go round a corner and had no space!) I feel a bit rubbish about the car. It's not an old banger so it upsets me to damage it, I feel like I shouldn't get nice things because I ruin them. Who knows how much it will cost to sort it even though it's only aesthetics so I can just save until I can pay.
I can't believe how cold it has been in the morning when getting out of bed, I adjusted the heating to come on a bit earlier so getting up isn't as difficult, on the current timings it wasn't really getting the room warm before I could get out of bed.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Well my Big Brands order arrived this morning complete with its 100% free so added to the last order, my usual stockpiling and all the preserves I've made this year my pantry now looks like I'm preparing for a nuclear disaster! Heaven only knows how we're going to get through that much granary bread! My friends and family are really going to think I've gone round the twist now. Think that with my weekly veg box (from the farm shop literally 30 yards down the bottom of the road) and milk (from the milk lady) and some cheese and a bit of meat we could survive for weeks if not longer so that makes me feel better. Car is due for its MOT at the end of the month so may end up testing that theory if it needs anything doing!
It's cold here but the rain has stopped and the sun has come out. We're off to my parents for a long weekend for a bit of being looked after so hope everyone has a good one whatever you're up to and I'll have to try and catch up on Monday.0 -
Sometimes it is just as simple as:
'..After her divorce she met a really nice man and now they're really happy together...'
I do hope so. I think you'll know soon enough. And there will be other jobs if you decide to let this one goIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -

Having quiet day as when I go outside I start to cough and sneeze.
DH loves the big bed that got delivered for us last week, despite all his reservations beforehand about it and DDs comments that our old bed was not that old. The reply "Our bed, our house and our money!" seemed to silence them in their tracks
We did not realise how uncomfortable our old bed was till we realised how much better we slept now. All the research was worth it.
Pea soup is in the slow cooker for tonight and home made lamb burgers with roast potatoes ( just tiny one for me as trying to reduce carbs a bit) and greeen beans.
Two of the daughters have said they could do with new pjs for a Christmas present and they love La Senza at £25 a pair  - spent ages yesterday on the website trying to order two pairs for £20 on special offer but every time I saw something nice it had gone from the basket before I got to checkout. Had a brainwave this morning around 8 a.m. and tried the site again- less busy and managed to order what I wanted - £10 a pair rather than £25 and free gift box and free postage if order is £40 or over. Thought I would mention it on here as I'm so pleased with the savings.
Went out for a few bits of shopping yesterday and so shocked at the price increases I told DH we were going to have to start doing big shop at Lidl or Aldi again.
Hugs to all and so pleased for annie and her dilemma - she deserves good things to happen for a change."This site is addictive!"

eughhhhhhhhh I have weird sinus winter thing
Its like I am breathing ice cold air up my nose!!! And head feels weird. Its that time of year I guess.
I have just made a pomander with orange, cloves and mixed spice... just noticed that the mixed spice has pimento in itBetter not hang them near clothes then or the itching will start
That is my demo one. When the girls get back from school I will show them how to make them - will prob do their initials on theirs.
And........... shhhhhhhhhh don't tell anyone......... I haven't had a ciggie since Monday. I gave up before DDs but started again after their Dad and I split... Not good... (I smoke after DDs are in bed, or I go outside. Don't smoke in front of them). I am taking one day at a time. And I threw the last one in the bin and don't have any more in the house
Do hope you soon feel better, and of course, your Dad also.
Well done on not smoking since Monday. I gave up about 10 years ago when i was firt diagnosed with chronic lung problems. Now i can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke and even if i walk past someone who is smoking then it starts my asthma off. Keep doing what you are doing. Do this for your DD even if not for yourself. You will probably live longer if you don't smoke, have more money in your pocket and you will be educating your DD that smoking is unhealthy and uneccessary.
I used to have A4 papers dotted all around the house stuck to cupboards and doors listing all the reasons i should quit. It was hard to give up, but nothing worth the effort is unworthy of the effort...if you know what i mean.
Well done :TGrocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
