Very discreet Ceridwen!
Hmm, wonder if I can have an Official Singledom party. Would have to be done frugally of course. :A
I know where I am when I'm by myself, I really don't think I'm cut out for relationships, it's just not for me.Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -
My birthday's the 1st as well and the first relationship was definitely Mr Wrong
Maybe in my case it meant it only takes one (after a fair few frogs). Married 22 years now - not that he would remember!! He kept saying 'we must have a party to celebrate our 10th anniversary' and I would say 'darling, we've been married for 15 years!!'
At least with a birthday on the 1st he has no excuse for forgetting that!!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Ooh, good idea. People have started having divorce parties haven't they? I wonder if they have the equivalent of a wedding list?!

I feel the same about relationships ... am so much happier without the highs and lows I had when married. Ex and I have joked about having a divorce party whenever it comes through but I've gone off the idea.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Evening All.....
Hey singledom has its points believe me, Im still coming to terms with the single life, Mister Monty is away for a couple of days meeting up with some old Army pals down Colchester way and its peaceful.
I wont be rushing down the aisle in a hurry ever again, Im enjoying bieng on my own and having some male company, but Im getting used to having my own dront door and just doing what I want, making my own decisions and saying oh to hell with the washing up etc.
Works going well except folk having a go at me for the price of petrol, and Im putting of doing the ironing with the excuse that I dont need to use so much leccy.
Trying to lose some weight me and choccie bars just keep bumping into each other, another LETS exchange of bartering today I had my front door rubbed down and painted and I did a birthday cake and some cupcakes for a litle girls party, and Im exchanging some of my jam for some crochet lessons...
Not much happening here in Staffordshire, its been dull dark and rainy today and not looking much better for tommorow.
im slobbing out im my fleecy jamas, and mooching round the different forums and listening to my favourite Motown songs, yes bieng on your own does have its merits.
Love to everyone, she says reaching for the Jaffa Cakes..mmmmm ..hugs to all that need one and i shall bid you all goodnight and shall indulge in a selfish singleton time for me me me lol

I live on my own with my little girl. I have a boyfriend who lives in another town. We are both happy to have seperate homes and see each other on weekends. Him and my daughter get on. We are both divorced and said we will get married when we are 60 (Im 39 and he's in his forties). I like my own space and am a bit of a loner. He's quite OS and we go to charity shops and do things like go to the meat van in the markty buy £20 of meat and split it between us. We have whoopsie competitons and get on pretty well.
I just know if we got together it wouldnt be the same. Being a step parent is hard and he's not quite a good with money as Iam (getting there though).
I met my soul mate but it wasnt meant to last.I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round0 -
So maybe there is something to be said for eloping at 16 then. You get to grow up with each other in a way..
And by the time you've got him half trained, you've no energy left to throw him out and get another one!0 -
