Welcome to any newscomers, lurkers, and you lovely posters on here. Been feeling out of sorts what with me having the flu and lack of the internet.

well i've got my ickle bro's laptop, but sadly have to give it back if i don't buy it off him. He wants £80 for it, he charging other £100+ and said i can pay him back in bits so i'm seriously tempted.
Trying to justify it to myself, i.e joint birthday/xmas present for me sorted.

Well been a hectic week of appointments.
Managed to buy an undercounter freezer of ebay for £34 :D, just need to pick it up tomorrow night. I asked on freegle for a fridged but nothings showing up yet. Just going to keep an eye out for a very cheap one.

Coddy attended an assessment for secondary school yesterday. Its the school i really want him to go to, so fingers crossed all will go well.
He has another physical assessment on the 13th November, at the same school. Unfortunately its on at the same time as a friends 30th birthday weekend. So i'm going to have to say look i'll come on saturday night instead of Friday. Its going to cause friction but quite frankly i'm sick of this person and my childs future is more important than keeping people onside.Selfish i know but i don't care.

Had a meeting about snips today, ended up having the senco / deputy heads life. Hopefully my and the paeditricians input will kickstart the procedeing sof getting children with extra educationals needs the headstart and provisions they are entitled too. The deptuty hesd is renowned for ignoring parents wishes, bullying and generally not caring about pupils inany way shape or form. So i actually feel like i've been progress today.

Hope your all well and annie 44:j:j:j,, congrats my love!!

Get the laptop, its a necessity now not a luxury:)
re schools. My friend kept getting fobbed off at school with regards to her son, was being labelled naughty. So she called a CAF meeting, invited everybody concerned, guess what, she got listened to - pity you have to go to such extremes though.

  • Sammy Kaye - wrap up warm and look after yourselves. Its much better if you can stagger these infections I find, that way you at least get a chance to spend some time in bed dying quietly :p. The worst was when myself and dd2 had a stomach bug together, she was in the shower, I was hugging the loo, and all I could hear was, 'its just not funny mum, is it.':)

Well I'm still hurting every where, don't no whether its flu, an ME flare up or a result of the new anti viral medication I'm on, so....I'll just go with the flow.

Put in my order for BBFL, don't no where its all going as I got the 100% free deal, but no matter what, we shall eat cake:rotfl:Also got to make room in cupboards as xmas hamper being delivered end of monthe:eek: (bet you that the kids will still tell me that there's nothing in to eat though:D:D)

My big sis has been experimenting with chocolate muffin mix and tells me that if you mix 2 cups of mix with 1/2 cup of water into a dough, spread on baking tray, bake at 370F for 20 minutes, cut while still warm, they taste like choc fudge brownies. will def be trying that.

    Love and hugs to all,
    hells

  • Hi all, I haven't posted on this thread for a while but am trying to catch up now. Have had this week off work with the lurgy (so I feel your pain SammyKaye) and have had a little bit of time to think about things. I have fallen off the MS bandwagon quite spectacularly and gone way over budget in the last month. Granted, it was both my girls' birthdays (6 and 3) and they had a joint party and a family do. But still, the weekly food budget has gone haywire and I haven't been planning properly. So it's back to it this month - need to have a lean one in order to afford some Christmas presents for the girls and other family members.

Got a fairly busy weekend - been invited to a friends' bonfire party tonight and I will probably go (although poorly, I am starting a feel a bit better today) and take dd6 with me. DD3 is frightened of fireworks so it's not something we will do as a family. My friend is doing jacket spuds and although she said I don't need to bring anything, I thought I'd do a chilli to go on the spuds. Must be vegetarian - I think I only need to buy some red peppers so it won't cost me much. Got to make that chili this afternoon. Already made tonight's tea which is a steak pie - the first time I have ever made a pie (I am using up pastry which I bought for the family birthday do which went out of date yesterday, but it will be fine)

Tomorrow night we are going to my step sister's 30th birthday party - food and entertainment laid on which is lovely - it's an hour's drive away and they did encourage us to have a room at the hotel overnight but we declined. €70 we just don't have at the mo! Then Sunday I have a Partylite team meeting. I am really enjoying being a Partylite consultant selling candles etc and I am making a useful amount of money from it too - which will help with Christmas etc.

Sammykaye - I know how you feel, my youngest two have had a stomach bug on and off for three weeks now, in between I feel lawful too, of course not sleeping doesnt help. All I can say is stay warm - and possibly try disinfecting all surfaces and light switches etc, am hoping it may have worked this time for us. :)

Have switched our fireworks do - from tonight to tomorrow - kids friends all had plans so couldnt come today. Relief tbh as have been at college last couple of nights with DD - trying to pick the which one, any advice on choosing would be great :)

I would second asking for a CAF - if they are done well they can be really useful

I'm having some issues with my son's school at the moment as they are labelling him naughty, he doesn't seem any more highspirited or prone to giddiness than his friends but they seem to know all the jargon and want to give him a Individual Behaviour Plan which from Googling seems a bit excessive.
Could I ask what a CAF meeting is please in case it might help our situation. Thanks.

arghhhhhhh at schools labelling children :(

Well I cannot believe it is not much past 4.30 and its dark... I know it happens every single year but it still comes as a shock to me that it can get dark so early :( Its just awful. If it were 5.30 I wouldn't mind, but 4.30 is much much too early.

Kids have gone to their fathers for the night as I have a long day at work tomorrow, and I was thinking of popping out to get a few bits so I don't need to do the shopping with them on sunday, but its so dark and damp outside I CBA.

Really wanted to pick up the Aldi Super6 as it changes tomorrow and i wanted the apples, leeks and spuds.

Did a bit of cleaning and tidying today but, hate to admit it, its been so bad for weeks so I am getting used to it :( Its so definately seasonal related...

Winter = house a mess. Summer = garden a mess :D (but in a good way, toys, plants, pots, tools etc)

A CAF meeting is where all outside agencies and internal staff, possibly youself 9we always had parents present) talk about the child's needs and determine the most appropriate way to meet the needs.

It may not seem like it for you, I know it comes across as very formal and a bit too extreme but a school and staff wanting to do all of this really is trying their very best for your child.

    Hope you're ok
