Are we all resorting to mugs of tea and knitting in front of the telly tonight? sounds like it - but I got no chocolate just ginger cake that broke in half when I prised it out of the BM. Dh didnt eat his tea and I knew he wouldn't so dont know why I made it for him - he hates very tomatoeeee ( couldnt spell it!) pasta sauces and thats what I used - all in all bit of a low day with one thing and another, the cooking was just the end bit. Ah well another day tomorrow.:p:pClearing the junk to travel light

No forget it, I am throwing them in the bin. Grateful as I am for the tips and hints, I cannot bring myself to clear more cat5h1t off shoes, they are going in the bin tomorrow unless I find something within me that makes me feel like cleaning them is better than spending another £8 in MrT for a new pair.
eughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I have too much on my plate right now to deal with unwelcome cat5h1t
Anyone else having a wee glass (or more) of wine tonight?
Lovely and toasty here after good sunshine today so no heating(just as well if i have to replace trainers regularly

Lindy_-_Loo wrote: »Hiya everyone, have loved catching up reading the thread today the posts have made me stop feeling sorry for myself! Were going to incure a £22 bank charge for going overdrawn next friday when the loan payment goes out as tax credits dont go in until monday 18th so been trying to work out how to avoid but apart from drawing on a credit card to cover it (which we wont) it cant be done.
had same porb myself, contacted loan company, they advised to cancel DD and pay manually. they told me there was a 7 day window for payment (A&L). Hope that helps
flower - check out the lets crochet thread some great help on there- sorry its crochet anyone, can't do the link thing sorry. The problem with common sense is its not very common:rotfl:

Just caught up with this thread after serious reading - hugs to those who need them at the moment, and empathy to those who - like me - just want to collapse on the sofa with a cup of tea and the telly.
I was going to turn it on and drool over David Tennant in his new drama-thing but DH is concentrating on work on the other side of the room, plus it sounds like it's going to be a tear-jerker, so I think I'll watch it tomorrow on i-player with headphones and a pile of tissues instead.
hippieechick, I have pm'd you about growing stuff - don't think you can be that far from me, and I'll be happy to help out.
kittie and catznine - just to say, add my voice to the others saying what inspiring posts - it is true that you can have the most memorable times on no money. The best wedding I have EVER been to was in a small village in France - my friend's family utterly skint, couldn't afford anything. They had the reception in the village hall and every guest brought a dish of food with them - I think the only thing the family bought was the cake (yummy croquembouche - like profiteroles piled high with spun sugar all over - see one here - SCRUM SCRUM). For the entertainment, someone had a record player and apart from that, every guest had to get up on the stage and do a party piece. Because the groom was English, there was a certain amount of national pride going on with first the French guests performing, then the English. There was this tall, skinny bloke called Jarvis who didn't look like he was capable of much who said he'd stand up and do one of his own songs, something called Lighthouse. I think we all thought it was going to be hugely embarrassing, but he was FANTASTIC and astonished us all. His surname was Cocker, and he and his band (Pulp) went on to great fame after that. I like to think we started him off(although as he already had a record deal at the time we probably didn't:rotfl:). It really was a fantastic wedding, and went on for three days, with everyone helping out with the washing up, dancing, singing, eating the leftovers. Absolutely brilliant stuff and hardly a penny among 'em.

charlies-aunt - a word of warning on the temping bit. I don't know what line you are in but around here admin type temp jobs are scarce as hens teeth. The agencies themselves are cutthroat with each other and there is nothing around.
Sorry to interfere, but can't just let you go without looking at it properly.J
All advice appreciated Jamanda- my thoughts were that at my age, it might be easier to get temporary work rather than permanent work - all jobs (temp and permanent) round here are minimum wage and there are dozens of agencies . . but whether they actually have any work I have yet to find out!
My current job is with the DWP & I am barred from working in certain sectors for next two years for security reasons. (I am a front line advisor in JCP not working in MI5!! I can't think I know any 'offical secrets' but I will have to abide by my contract)
I've got qualifications in and have worked extensively in the housing sector and would probably look to return to this through a specialist agency - if its possible, I would like to work full time during the winter and part-time during the rest of the year...saving on winter fuel bills but able to make the most of the good weather.:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls
