Very good. :rotfl::T:rotfl::T The force did indeed bring me back!

Thanks for the welcome back. Very excited as tomorrow I am taking my little girl to see Disney on Ice paid for by my lovely inlaws.

My veggie plot went to pot this year! Tomatoes rotted from the inside, yellow courgettes failed to grow bigger than my small finger, slugs ate my onions, corn, aubergine and peppers. Real shame as last year they did really well. Now I need to dig over the soil and put in some blood and bone.

Will be sitting down over half term and working out how little money we really have and what can be paid before Christmas.

On the point of slow cookers I love mine. Wouldn't be without it especially on days that I work. I chop up all veggies the night before and prepare the meat and put in the fridge. Then in the morning pop it all in the slow cooker, pour in some sauce and when I get home from work dinner is all ready!

Must stop rabbiting on - withdrawal symptons!!!

Looked up lets groups south west last night.
I was right the bath one is very well set up and has website and trades in olivers but bit far from me the 2closes too me have no website so will ahve to email them and seem very small. most say they part of bristol interlets which made me wonder is it possible to trade one currency beets for another.
Most seem to be other side of city.

I think I've only had occasion personally to "sell" my services a couple of times to someone from a nearby LETS group. I know my own LETS group does have sorta interchange type arrangements with nearby ones and (as I recall) I was able to put my LETS credit notes I had been handed from the other groups member into my own groups LETS "bank account" okay.

I'm not sure whether this is a general facility or not across the majority of LETS groups - I think it is - but I couldnt swear to it. I know we would certainly all tend to agree in principle with the idea of different groups being able to trade between each other. It expands the "market" after all:D. Basically - as you've found out - we all have our quirky little names for our own areas Lets Credits - but the principle generally tends to apply (to the groups I have contact with anyway) that a LETS Credit is deemed to roughly equate to £1 - whichever group you are dealing with. That would make it easy for us to deal with each other.

There is local variation between different groups as to how they operate to some extent - but its certainly well worth you asking if its possible to intertrade between adjacent groups. Also - we see no reason why people shouldnt belong personally to 2 or 3 adjacent groups if they wish to. We certainly have at least one member who also belongs to an adjacent group.

We had an active group adjacent to ours for some years - and their directory was certainly available to us in case we wished to "buy" any services from any of their members and there were some of our members who used to regularly attend their Trading Events, as well as our own.

    Hi gailey,

Unfortunately I think you do have to collect the toys on the day that the coupon is published in the paper, otherwise you can order them all together, but that involves buying the paper to collect the tokens and paying £8.99 p&p. More details in this thread:

Free Lego Toys With The Daily Mirror, 10 to collect, starts Saturday

    Pink

Im thinking I must have missed 2 if starts on sat as mirror on sat and mirror has a sunday edition.

anyway dident get to high street so went to garage they had lots of papers left.

I was right had to be redeemed today at toys r us/whismit which was impossible for me.
Plus thinking about where they are would cost me as much to get there as postage would probably be but great if you have 1 within walking distance.
Anyway im thinking if I keep collecting today and buy 10lots of mirror 45p a week day think sat/sun editions might be more thats least

5pounds in buying the rag for coupons
    and 8.99post
total 14pounds hoping its worth it for all 10,playmat and collecters box think daughter will like it not sure what resale value to buy similar in shops would be.

Plus not to mention I hate the daily mail most important front news spread was colleen/wayne and jordon!
There was a completely bias 2page article on cuts inside too saying the most crazy things.

Anyway hopefully daughter will like it part of xmas pressie.

Need some advice, mentioned already my husband made huge hole in wall where he removed old toiliet roll holder.
well they out of stock of toiliet roll holders in his store so hes going to check bristol stores tommorow as its end of line range to match new towell rail and shelves.

He was going to fill inside of hole with small peice of plasterboard, then polyfill thats his answer to everything. But his staff suggested expanding polyfoam which is truly horrible rubbish stuff.

it said do not get on hands he used gloves.
But hes got some on his hands and they wont come off:eek:

any ideas how to remove the stuff? hes tried hot soapy water?
hes got meeting tommorfow will look fab with grubby hands.

im extra nervous as hes got blooming soap holder the old ones attached to tile so dont want him damaging the tiles too!

Hes always buying end of line bargains he cant help himself we have a power shower in loft cost him 4.99 if and when we ever buy a house.

hes diy disaster but suppose least hes keen.
hes ben unable to fix draws and wardobes so think they need replacing as draws particuarly driving me mad.

    babys asleep and shattered.
rugrat no 2 going to bed soon as swimming tommorow.
tea will be something frozen as worried freezers far too full!
Plus im shattered never enoug hours in day.

Gailey try cooking oil and get him to massage it in well.
  • Gailey - the heat up things are from TJ Hughes, think Im going to get them, they had cows and frogs so they shouldnt be too girly!

Boots do lego in a pink storage box and its on the 3 for 2 offer, thimk its £12.99. If you had a B&M I would say go there as they have lego sets from £2.99 with figures in them. The boys have their 45p each ready for OH tomorrow when he goes to work to get them a paper each - lego has a figure with it tomoorw apparently.

Heating is now on of an evening as well, weather has really turned today

re the DM lego deal personally I think if have to pay postage etc be better spending £15 on a proper lego set - the Boots one has caught my eye already for dd and niece for christmas.

School hol been a bit of a downer for ds today as spent most of morning puking and rest of the day feeling sorry for himself on the sofa. Will have to be a cheap week as only £20 in the pot til sunday and car needs petrol - luckily kids of to grandmas for night tomorrow and she'll spoil them!
