  • Annie posted the other day that someone had sent her a nasty PM, she was quite annoyed about it. :(

I got my delivery for one of the food companies mentioned further up the thread this morning, can't remember who, oh yes, BigBrands. Got some instant mixes for skint weeks when I am low on extras, worked out a lot cheaper than buying individual ingredients, and they will do for stuff in a rush. :)

Jediteacher - I took my two youngest to see Disney at Manchester a couple of weeks ago, beware its hugely expensive inside and very heavily pushed to buy the merchandise. I was searched going in and they told me no drinks and no sweets, luckily the lad let me in anyway but if they had taken away our drinks it was very expensive to buy inside, so make sure you hide any snacks etc inside your coats!!
  • kidkat that is outrageous, I would be livid it that had been me!

DH has completed laying the first layer of insulation in the loft and we can already feel the difference. :D

The second layer will be finished by the weekend.

The back bedroom and the diningroom are full of the contents of the loft, which all needs to be sorted out and disposed of, or packed back up there. DH has already been to the tip three times.

Taking Thursday off to go on a day out to visit a castle.:) All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, after all.:rotfl:

Got to swap my summer clothes for my winter ones, trying to put it off.:o

Making a lamb curry this afternoon, will let it stand until tomorrow, as the flavour always improves. ;)

On a lighter note, I tried getting into the bath, on Sunday, for the first time in 3 years. Result, could not get out again. I've got back problems and knee problems and just could not do it. DH had to disrobe and get into the bath with me and I made a valiant effort to get up, with him pushing me from the rear.:rotfl:

I was secretly hoping that he would call the fire brigade for assistance.:D Thank God there were no cameras around. :rotfl:

Will have to stick to showering.:mad::mad:

Have a good day everyone. ((((ALL))))

flowertotmum - is the skip company name or number on the side- may be quicker to call them instead. failing that as it completely blocks your access - the police will attend too, can see the council taking three weeks at least to get round to helping you. :)

Thanks for the heads up. I have also been given some spending money. However, I will hide some little snacks on my little girl and my inside pockets. The lengths one goes to!

sorry I am awol for the moment OH is in hospital am spending my time running from home to hospital to visit......will be back....

csarina, sorry to read this, hope your OH goes on alright and that he will soon be home with you.

Frugal, hope your Dad is doing alright!

Roseanna, welome to the OS board. I look forward to reading more of your posts in future :)

Annie56, someone send you a snarky pm? Golly gosh! Report it!

Kezlou, sorry to read about 'snips' busted lip. Hope it didn't/doesn't get infected.

Lindy-Lou, whistles were always the first thing to be removed from party bags whenever my kids received them. Balloons i can cope with but not whistles! I would never put whistles in the party bags i gave out either, i knew how darned annoying they were to listen to.

Gailey, great news about the tax rebate.

Sammy, Roseanna gave some very good advice earlier, and as she is a former HV i hope her words give you comfort and encouragement.

    Jediteacher, welcome back!

rachb, hope your ds is feeling better.

Sorry if i missed anyone else out who i intended to mention, i have only time to skim the thread as i have a lot of catching up to do with other threads on here as well as this one.

Alas, i too have been AWOL for a few days as my DDad was rushed into hospital late Saturday night via ambulance again. Me and Mum didn't get home till 3.15am in the early hours of Sunday. Been running up and down to hospital ever since. Hoping to have him back home with mum in the next day or two, all being well.

I have missed the forum interaction and reading how things are with everyone, but now i hope to get back to more regular visiting/commenting/reading of posts etc.

On the upside, i have started taking my crochet with me to hospital and i have managed to crochet a LOT of granny squares over the past few days. Dad made fun of me yesterday, as the man in the next bed to Dad said 'will you be coming tomorrow?' to me...i said 'well yes, i think so'....he winked at me and said, 'well make me a scarf then!' He was only joking but Dad said 'I see, my daughter has 'clicked' again!'.

Wouldn't mind but the man was at least 70 :rotfl:...then again...two weeks ago while at hospital waiting for my Dad to have some tests a nice chap in a wheelchair started nattering to me and told me (at least 5 times) in the course of our 10 minute conversation, that he had no underpants on .

Sadly, he was no Chippendale (at least not the sexy kind..though if compared to the furniture manufacturer, he may have faired better) and he informed me that he was over 75 :D

I ain't exactly hot stuff myself (unless we count the 'power surges') but i'm afraid 75 is a liitle too old, even for me ;)

    :)
