New Q.... My freezer is set to -18c.... in the interests of money saving, can i set it to 16c with no ill effects to freezer contents?
Now, my head says that surely if something is frozen, then it is frozen full stop... So surely anything below say -5 must be ok?
What do you all think?
ooh - does that make a difference to elec used? Mine's set to -21cI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Evening all
welcome back jediteacher good to see you again!!!
Gailey great news about the tax refund!!!!
Well been successful today spent a whopping £9.45 on a newspaper hate the daily pap buts it saving me a fortune, black ink cartridge and the boys had a 30 mins ride on the kmx karts.
The boys really enjoyed themselves so been great.
OH came and gone, luckily the photo's are all sorted for his file (finished cross) so hopefully all his other pieces work will be done and dusted. Such a relief.
Not sure if this is any use to anyone but in B & M i also found Halo sets in lego. They range from £12.99 to £19.99, coddy wants the aerial fighter. So the cheapest is 8+ while the aerial fighter is 11+.
Thought it might of use to you all.
Does anyone know where you can get cheap starwars lego sets. Been looking around but they all seem really expensive including ebay.
So now we have a kind of list coming together.
Frugal! :T:T:TThe creative lego set is great by the way, i got one for snips (ds2) and its kept him well amused. Lots of basic but also some very complex pieces, so its a good mixture.
Tried the new bread machine , so far so good. Its just beeped, the bread looks fine, but its stuck in the bread pan, typical.
Lucky devils my freezers set to the highest it can go. Stupid thing keeps defrosting itself, sigh, what a strain.
OH fixed it again last night, luckily all the meat has now been eaten out of freezer, now it just tons of rhubarb, berries and veg. So lots cakes going to be made this week inc veg stews.
Got my OH on board and he said yep lets do it.so need to make a meal plan using what we have in the freezer.0 -
Aaargh just wrote a really long post and then my internet crashed and I lost it! I hate it when that happens!

Yay Gailey!
Proud of my DH, he ran the Great South Run yest and was amazing.
Zip on trousers bust at work today, not worth replacing (knees worn out too) so need new pair.
Will find that recipe for you Kezlou and post it on here - recipe book is in kitchen and kitten is on my knee asleep ATM!
Expensive week this week as managed to end up having several social events in one week. Got paid today though, yay.
Freezing this morning here in the south, make sure you all wrap up warm

Thanks for the welcome back. Very excited as tomorrow I am taking my little girl to see Disney on Ice paid for by my lovely inlaws.
My veggie plot went to pot this year! Tomatoes rotted from the inside, yellow courgettes failed to grow bigger than my small finger, slugs ate my onions, corn, aubergine and peppers. Real shame as last year they did really well. Now I need to dig over the soil and put in some blood and bone.
Will be sitting down over half term and working out how little money we really have and what can be paid before Christmas.
On the point of slow cookers I love mine. Wouldn't be without it especially on days that I work. I chop up all veggies the night before and prepare the meat and put in the fridge. Then in the morning pop it all in the slow cooker, pour in some sauce and when I get home from work dinner is all ready!
Must stop rabbiting on - withdrawal symptons!!!0 -
Frugal
The toyrus one i think is the best option.
I found with boots, that even with the 3 for 2 deal, you still get less bricks and far too basic. Especially if you have budding builders like mine are.0 -

Bless you guys. I didn't mean to worry anyone.
I'm very excited today as I'm taking my little girl to see Disney on Ice at the O2 today. :j There was a post a while ago on the grabbit board for cheap tickets and my hubbie gave me the money to buy the tickets so I could treat our girl. My inlaws have given me the petrol and parking money so we're heading out mid morning.
My little girl gave me a little scare yesterday. We were round a friends house and she fell down the stairs. When I caught here there was blood all over her head and it was a little heavy. Luckily I'm a trained advanced 1st aider and when I got to the bottom of the blood there was a tiny cut and a lovely bump. I was quite relieved as I was concerned that she would need stitches. Did not let her go down for her afternoon sleep to check she was ok and made sure she was 'with it'. Within minutes she was running around and as happy as can be. Honestly, kids!'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'
Proud Mummy to two gorgeous miracles.:j0 -
