I remeber doing various exam courses in the basement of this church off Holborn Circus. Might be cheap at the weekend

Oh I remember this one - airy and clean - will phone them in the morning.

Think the nearest tube is Chancery Lane - which always makes me think of Christmas and feel in the mood.

So suggestions for somewhere to stay? Off to google for Travelodges - seem to remember there being one near London Bridge.

Thrifty hon - until you had come to that personal lightbulb moment there was nothing we could do but send you our heartfelt love.

But - as soon as you get your plan, there are 150 women (and a couple of men) waiting in the wings to make it a reality.

    Together we can do anything

MG - will PM you, I have a code for £10 off travelodges in London. Also if you want really cheap, how about Youth Hostel? St Pauls is a good one and cheap. Bit basic but depends what you want. They do have private en suite rooms

Have forwarded the email to your email address. Hope it helps. Can also be used in other places before Christmas.

Cheri - The christmas market in Manchester opened yesterday.

The venue in Manchester is in Didsbury (south Manchester). It is easy to get to from Widnes (M62/M60/A34) or (M56/A5103 and right at Southern Cross Cemetary), about 40 mins drive. Didsbury is packed with coffee/wine bars, or I could bring cake ...

MG - London, The Columbia is just off Hyde Park and near to Lancaster Gate. They may have a small room and they are economical. For sleeping, there is a hostel near Swiss Cottage (Ok nowhere near Lancaster Gate), it is clean and cheap. PM if you want to know more and I will look up the name.

How are you getting to the smoke? - Do you need to buy a railcard?

:rotfl:I read this as "Mum is bringing the meat, Dad is bringing the drink, Mums B(oy)F(riend) is bringing a fruit basket (appreciated much more than flowers BTW and her husband brings the crackers)

Sorry! :o Must be a bit tired!

I read it that way too and was thinking what an interesting family :rotfl:
Its Winky the House Elf's due date today, may I just ask everyone to spare a second to send her extra positive vibes, so she isnt hanging on to her little bundle for too much longer and that she gets the lovely, calm water birth that she has asked for.
    Thank you x

How lovely of you to remind us all Fantasia :) Winky, here's wishing you a fantastic, calm experience s you welcome your little one in to the world the way you want to :D

Christmas???? It never starts in earnest here until after my sister's birthday on 13/11 although I do buy bits through the year if I see the right thing for someone. Also, when my Nieces were at Boarding School I started to take the three of them shopping for a day to buy them clothes, CD's, Boots, Shoes, Books etc for Christmas. Their Mum used to give me £100 each for them and then we added in any money from me, Granny and other Aunty's. Through the day I would keep a tally and let them know how much they still had to go. I would then take everything home and hand it out to be wrapped. This way they got what they wanted but never knew who it was from til Christmas morning. As they have got older, been through Uni, started work, got their own homes I keep hoping that they will just give me a Christmas list, but no, they still want their shopping day :rotfl: So that is me booked up for the 4/12! We do have a great day each year and they get treated to lunch as well. It does also help to give idea's to other family members as they always want more than the budget I give them so they do still get some surprises :D

Hey all, just back from Mums and caught up on all your great stuff.

    Thrifty :j:j:jon your LBM.

MG well done on all your planning and organising.

DT glad you're all booked and sorry I didn't help but don't log on when I'm at the folks as I just love spending time with them. Got your email too. Will have a look and see where we're going from here.

Claire, the necklaces were here waiting for me. They are beautiful. Thanks so much.

Well my Xmas shopping is coming along okay but need to wait for my bro to tell me what he wants which could take a while. He's very laid back and not at all materialistic which is lovely...but I want to get him and his bf (boy friend this time yep:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)something they want so wish he'd get a shifty on!

Had a great time at Mum and Dads. She worries sometimes that I'm lonely cos I'm on my own. Managed to reassure her that I'm not and that I wont be changing anything as life is sweet as it is. Also told her I didn't want kids and that I don't believe in God and an afterlife in the course of our chat. She kind of guessed most of this but good to be able to say it rather than her assuming stuff and she just nodded and said 'well that's all okay'. Did note that her evening prayers took a right long time though:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Good to be back online and having a lovely night in with Radio 2 and some chocolate. Off for a girly lunch tomorrow and got the boys round on Sunday. Bring it on X

    MG,
It would be worth getting rail tickets ASAP. The cheapest advance fares I can find at the moment (on www.eastcoast.co.uk ) are £48.05 down to London on the Friday (several trains at that price) and £39.60 back on Sunday morning (9.00 & 9.15 only, later trains are dearer) or if you could get to Kings Cross by 17.00 on the Saturday (the 18.00 is £48.05). The longer you leave it, the less likely you are to get at these prices. (If you were booking for 2 months time you could get them for £24ish each way.)
