    A funny from this morning.

DS2 got up and remembered that last night there was sponge cake floating around. Now cake is his number one passion at the moment.

"What do you want for breakfast, snotty one" I asked

    "Cake"

"You can't have cake for breakfast - do you want cereal?"

    "No Cake!!!"

"No hon.not cake, what about some toast?"

    "Cake please!!"

"No honey, cakes not a breakfast food"

    DS1 chips in "Why not?"

    "Why not what?"

"Why is it not a breakfast food?"

    "Because ................... because it's cake!!"

"But its flour, eggs, sugar, jam and cream?"

    "Yes???????????"

"Just like pancakes, and we have them for breakfast?"

........................... so guess what they both had for breakfast????

    Yup!!! Cake!!!

Sometimes having OS kids can backfire on you, can't it?

  • Excellent logic from DS1 re ingredients, MG!

Well done on your mobile deal - will avoid that nagging feeling of being near your limit.

My sum total of achievement today has been a badly-needed haircut. It's been bad hair days for the past 10 days! But I need to find a new hairdresser - current one's getting too pricy even though the girl does a great job.

I may resort to stopping people with great haircuts in the street again - "excuse me, I hope you don't mind a personal question, but your haircut is fab - who do you go to?" will be followed by, "how much do you pay?" :rotfl::rotfl:
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

    Help please -
My friend of 29 years has asked me to give her a character ref. Long story shortened she did 3 years of nursing training then because of a traumatic assault was unable to take her finals. Has now plucked up the courage to stop being a victim (her words not mine) and get back out there. She's been accepted for a job as a support worker.
I've been able to vouch for her 'attitude' and 'honesty'
Next 1 is 'Integrity' (which i can vouch for as well) but I'm not sure how to word it.
Just need a couple of lines which express it properly.
Any ideas.................?????????? Please & thankyou :)

Good on your friend - as I understand it, integrity would be something about acting ethically and morally so could you say something along lines of 'she treats people with respect and dignity and will act from an ethical stance' - [if you feel thats true] or something along those lines about her view of people....... hope that makes sense?

The power of a water tight argument. My contribution from this afternoon:

'Mum, why all songs are about love and hope?'
'Because love and hope make the world go round.'
'Rubbish! Gravity makes the world go round.'

The only possible way to recover was to explain that people sing about what they see as important and that is why most songs are about love. Very few songs about gravity -although the CERN people have released a CD (most songs are about the beauty of physics and the universe - in physics sense).

Watch it next week, MG, Little Boy (aka Mr. Spock) is coming.

GQ, today I actually considered cutting my hair myself - and then thought: 'I might be a high scorer but this is a bit extreem.' Help!
